I did my Advanced Open Water Diver Certification with the Andaman Dive Adventure Team. I came here on recommendation and now want to pass the word. Safety is here on top of the list, equipment is state of the art, groups are small (3 to max. 4 people per guide). I had the luck to have Chris Facey all to myself for most of the course and fun dives afterwards. If you would google “Perfect dive instructor” Chris’ profile should come up first. Chris will make you feel comfortable from the first second on and will guide you well informed and safe through your underwater adventure. The dive spots are beautiful. I have been to Koh Ma and Koh Bida, especially Koh Ma was impressive. The school owns its own boat where you will be served breakfast and lunch, which I really enjoyed. The dive spots are like 1 or 1.5h away, but it’s is definitely worth the drive.
Thanks also to Lisa and Lee for the organization behind the scenes.
To sum it up: Don’t think twice if you want to dive from Koh Lanta, stick with Andaman Dive Adventure.

Could not have been better!

We had a tremendous experience with the team at Andaman Dive. They were really well organised, very helpful, really nice to deal with and most of all experienced and safe. We would recommend them to anyone wanting to learn to dive off Koh Lanta. A special mention has to go to Chris, our instructor. He was really thoughtful, encouraging and easy to learn from. He was a superb teacher and a lovely guy too. Chris made the whole experience really easy. A big shout out also goes to Bart who took us on our last two dives. He really came up trumps….. on our last dive we swam within a couple of metres of a whale shark! What a result, a great memory to take away.

Nothing has changed

Left Koh Lanta on 06th Mar 2020 and the world turned up-side down soon afterward.
I was wondering how the island has been doing since travelling has returned. So I made a light and short trip around Lunar New year with no scuba equipment except mask and dive computer in my pack.
I have done four days of diving and the rental equipment was fine and never had any issue. Weather was good except a heavy down pour of very short period in one afternoon when I set out the 3rd dive.
Unfortunately the visibility was awful(same as my trip) for the first 3 days and even missed a chance meeting of a whaleshark. I was merely 5m behind my guide and buddy but failed to spot it. Never mind as I have seen the gentle giant on several occasions before.
All in all it was great to be back to the Island. Koh Lanta still retains certain degree of charm and rustic which should appeal to certain type of tourists.
Looking forward to another trip to the island and diving with ADA.

Awesome time diving with ADA

We had a great time diving with ADA. The whole team and crew were super nice and professional and we felt very safe diving in small groups and saw lots of wildlife. A good breakfast and great lunch (even for vegetarians) were provided on the boat (which is a bit slow but offers a lot of space for lounging and eating). The handling of the equipment onboard is very convenient for divers diving with air since they have a compressor on board and just refill bottles on the boat (so no changing bottles between dives) and they also offer Nitrox which is great (ofc then you have to change bottles).
Prices were very reasonable especially when you bring your own gear and we would definitely come back to dive with them again.

Diving with Chris - a pleasure!

As somebody who gets easily flustered and anxious, I never thought I’d be able to pass the Open Water course - and it was only possible thanks to Chris.

He’s everything an instructor should be: calm, patient and kind. He quelled my panic and always reassured me that I was capable, he believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself and went the above and beyond the expectations of an instructor. He never gave up or made me feel like I was failing, and adapted his teaching so I could go at my own pace.

On the boat, he gave me headphones and a meditation app so I could calm my anxiety, and talked me out of giving up when I felt defeated. Chris genuinely cared about my safety and happiness, and I will be forever grateful that he persevered and encouraged me to get back in the water each time I wanted out.

The boat was clean, spacious and well equipped - with an excellent breakfast and lunch provided. The Thai staff couldn’t do enough for you, and recognised that I needed more support than a more experienced diver would.

The dives themselves were incredible, and I’m so happy I got the chance to see turtles munching on coral, lobsters, snakes, and a plethora of beautiful fish and coral.

I would highly recommend diving with these guys, and once again want to give a special recommendation to Chris. I’m truly blown away by his upmost professionalism and skill.

I also dived with Walter who was excellent and super friendly!

If I ever go back to Koh Lanta, I would 100% come back here.

PADI open water course review

I completed my PADI Open Water Course through Andaman Dive after looking at a few different dive shops in Ko Lanta and it was definitely the best choice! Our amazing instructor Jasmine was so helpful and friendly. With her confidence and ability to teach we we’re confident in the water after our day in the pool and classroom with her! We couldn’t have asked for a better instructor! The company itself and time on the boat was also amazing, the food was delicious and the staff all super friendly and helpful! We saw many different sea animals and went to amazing dive sites!

Amazing first diving experiences

I took my padi course through Andaman dive adventure and I couldn’t be happier. Everyone I met was lovely and so supportive, I actually couldn’t be nervous. My instructor Jasmine was so encouraging and knowledgable. Because of her I feel competent and confident moving on to future diving endeavours. 10/10 recommend to anyone wanting to learn to dive.

One day three dives trip

I went on a one day trip to go to Hin Muang, Hin Daeng & Koh Haa # 5 for one dive in each location. The places are a bit farther away (~ 1.5 h by boat from Koh Lanta) and therefore, the trip costs a bit more. To me, Hin Muang & Hin Daeng are absolute must’s when in Koh Lanta. The bright colors of the reefs and the massive amount of diverse fish life is breathtaking. I’ve never seen anything like this. The boat ride was also very comfortable and unlike what I’ve expected from what I read on the internet (a lot if waves) but I might have been lucky.

Special thanks to my guide Jenny who was very helpful at any time and on top of that a sympathetic and interesting person :)

Great experience!

We spent two marvellous days diving with the Andaman Dive Adventure. The organistion was more than perfect, the crew and dive masters were very compentent and put a lot of effort to make our exprience truly unforgetable.

As for the details: contact with dive center was really quick and profesional from the very begining. Diving gear as well as the boat itself were in very good condition and there was also a good supply of drinks and food available for divers during the day trips to keep you fresh and satisfied throughout the day. Yet the most important for us was that each divemaster was guiding a group of no more than two people, so every diver could get as much attention as he needed and there was no chaos or traffic under the water.

We definitely recommend this dive center (&turtles)!

Perfect diving in Thailand.

We spend a week in Koh Lanta diving with Andaman diving. Beautiful diving area in the Andaman sea. The diving equipment was brand new and the instructors were perfect. Small groups are guide by a team of patient instructors. We will most definitely come back to this area. One of the most beautiful diving locations in the world
