Finally they are back! the island tour with the Big Boat. Very professional team. Mr. Mon takes very good care of the customers. A really great relaxed excursion to the surrounding islands of Koh Lanta. Hotel pick up, welcome drink, snorkeling masks for children, breakfast on the boat, snorkeling, lunch very tasty Massaman curry, vegan dish, chicken. The guide Mr.Mon speaks very good English and is always open to questions and very helpful. Scenic, of course, paradisiacal. This tour is much more relaxed and back-friendly with the Bigboat than with a speedboat.

If you are visiting Koh Lanta, I couldn’t recommend taking the big boat tour enough! Mon and his team are professional, attentive and informative from pick up from your hotel at the start of the day to drop off at the end. This is the only big boat tour on the island and is extremely luxurious compared to the cramped longboat tours we are accustomed to. Mon the tour guides English is fluent and he is informative throughout the day. You can expect welcome drinks on arrival at the office, breakfast on departure from the pier, water, tea and coffee throughout the day and a beautiful buffet lunch around 1pm with fresh fruit. The emerald cave was absolutely stunning and an experience I will never forget. Mon ensures to take photos of the group throughout the day and provides these to you at the end of the tour. Thank you again Mon and The Four Island team for a great day and we wish you the best in the future!

A tour company that ensures your safety and a good experience to remember forever. Mon our guide , is an experienced guide that is knowledgeable of the sites we saw and ensured sour moments were captured in pictures that we had access to. The boat cruising was relaxing and the lunch was delicious.

When the sea was agitated, plastic cups and bottles fell into the sea and the crew did nothing because the cockpit was smoking.
I do not understand how it is possible for the crew not to take care of the customers and the utensils so that they do not fall to the sea and provoke an attack to the environment.
No one from the crew informed us of the 4 islands, we only stopped once.
I recommend that the crew of this company be trained so that situations like this can be avoided.

We booked this tour. We skipped breakfast at the hotel (which started at 7:30) and waited in the hotel lobby. No one showed up to pick us up. Two other families were picked up by other companies while we waited. I finally had the hotel receptionist call Four Islands, and they said they were having another company take us out snorkeling. After an hour and a half waiting, some Joe in a truck picked us up and took us to the beach down the road. We did not get the tour we booked, which was leaving from Old Town. We did not get a scrumptious seafood lunch on the beach - we had chicken and potatoes. We missed breakfast, waited for an hour and a half, and no communication from this company. I definitely would not recommend Four Islands.

I'll start with this: NEVER go on weekends unless you want to be together with dozens of Thai family including kids in the water. The boat was very very crowded.
The tour is very disappointing, mostly not because of the company, but rather because it's far from being impressive:
We started by one snorkeling near one single small coral, where you had just a few scores of small fish. The visibility was awful. Maybe one meter. There were another two big boats around so you can imagine the amount of legs with fins kicking you. 1 hour there.

Then we went to the emerald cave, which was beautiful but terrible. We actually had to hold each other while swimming in a long line, where you are holding in someone's life vest in front and someone is doing this to you. We felt like chickens going to be slaughtered. The other side of the cave was beautiful but so crowded. We had there just a few minutes. I saw that other companies had a dry bag so the pax could take their cameras. This company does not. Then we had to go through this nightmare again, 'swimming' maybe one hundred meter in over minutes. I had a father with a kid behind me so he was holding the kid in one hand and my life vest with the other, which was very unbalanced and the kid was kicking me all the time. Terrible!...

Then we went to another island. There there even much fewer fish. Definitely nothing spectacular or big. Not a single lion fish even. A coral that looked very dead to me with hardly any life around. 45 minutes there.

The last stop was at Koh Ngai, at a resort. Kog Ngai looked very beautiful and we just had one hour there on the shore. This was pretty lovely just to walk along the beautiful beach.
Then again on the boat back and the transfer to the hotel. Got there around 5:15pm (so exactly 9 hours later).

Lunch was ok, chicken with bones, rice, some strange cooked vegetables and boneless chicken curry.
They served also fruits (pineapple and watermelon), which were finished much before everyone could grab some, and it wasn't refilled.

The personnel was nice and helpful, though the speakers were so bad none of us could understand what the guide said in the microphone.

So, summary: we (me, a nice Finnish couple and a nice German couple) agreed that it was disappointing, waste of time, overcrowded, really uninteresting snorkeling. We spent most of the time on the boat. Just 1:45 hours in the water out of nine plus ten minutes net in the emerald cave plus one hour on the island. The rest six hours we were on the boat!!...

My recommendation: skip. There's really nothing to see.

My wife and I went snorkeling with out at Koh Rok. The transportation and boat ride was okay. The toilet on the boat was not clean at all. The snorkeling sites very pretty good, especially the last one. Lots of corals, although sadly most of them are dead and gray because of pollution and tourists. The big downside was the crew on the boat. Only one of them could speak English, and he spoke it poorly, but A LOT! He talked and talked and talked and talked, repeating either basic messages or sentences that just didn't make sense over and over again. He also did this through a bad megaphone, making it barely understandable noise during every stop. Most of the tourists just stopped paying attention, but he kept going at it and everything got delayed. The captain was under training, and didn't really seem to know how to control the boat in shallow waters. He had a lot of trouble not getting stuck. They also didn't seem to be very environment friendly, and didn't bother to tell tourists not to touch the corals before the last dive spot. The worst thing about the trips was when we arrived back at the pier about an hour late, and they hadn't thought off the water levels being low at that time. So we spent over 30 minutes in the boat without getting to land. In the end we caught a ride with a long tailboat instead. The driver who was supposed to drive us back was about 30 minutes late as well. Would recommend using a more expensive company or a smaller group option.

We did the four islands kayaking tour with the 4 islands team. We usually avoid sea tours, since they tend to be overcrowded and subject to random weather. We are however very glad we did this one.

We got picked up at the agreed time from our hotel and dropped off at the peer of the old town, where we boarded the boat along with other passengers. The agency has separate cars for the various parts of the island, which we thought as well organised, since we finally travelled in a minivan without being squeezed like sardines. The boat has two toilets and we all needed to remove our shoes before getting on board (you can either put them in a big basket and get them, before leaving or keep them in your bag). You can either sit on the first floor, inside or upstairs outside. If you sit upstairs, there is not much shade.

What I particularly liked about the tour, was that it was well timed. We avoided the first snorkeling spot and moved on straight to the emerald cave, because there were already three boats there and the water was full of their snorkeling passengers. When we got to the Emerald cave, which is amasing, three groups were already leaving and the last group left shortly after we arrived at the beach, leaving our group alone to enjoy the scenery. We also didn't have to form a line and hold to each other while swimming through thr cave and the crew transported all of the cameras in tbe cave for us.

We then drove to one of the islands, where we snorkeled. We saw so many fish and corals! We then drove on and some of us kayaked, while fhe rest drove on to the beach. Kayaking was very tires, because of the wind, and you kayak to the same beach that the boat drives to. I recommend you book just snorkeling and not kayaking. After swimming or lying on the beach, we got transported to the next snorkeling point, shich was nothing much snd the we drove back to the old town.

Lunch, fruit and a simple breakfast were served on board. You can also buy ice cream and other beverages on board for fair prices. There is also coke and water offered in big canisters. I am not sure, if the water was bottled. I didn't drink it.

The crew was friendly and its members spoke English, some better than other, but we communicated fine. They were kind enough to snorkel together with the passengers that couldn't swim well, dragging them with a rope.
