Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting.

Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

Amazing place doing amazing work

If you're on holiday for a week just go for an hour to see the amazing work they do. Then give them a few BHT because they need donations!

I really enjoyed my visit. The staff were very friendly and gave a great tour of the place. I managed to walk an rehabilitated fighter dog called Sanchez, who was a pleasure to walk around Koh Lanta with. I think the only issue I had was that I wish I had a home that I could adopt one of the... More

Such a great place to visit. Even for a short period of time. Stop by and take a dog for a walk, play with kittens, cuddle puppies or offer to help out around the place. The volunteers are friendly and helpful. The cats and dogs are adorable.

Met the dogs and cats there. They r adorable animals. The volunteers working there are doing amazing jobs! Wish we could adopt one but New Zealand is one of the most difficult country for overseas animals, we just gave up~ for the Europeans and US and Canadian will be easier~ they also offer non profit support to local pets, busy... These guys are clearly doing an awesome job, looking after and helping to rehome many dozens of dogs and cats. It's a very well run organisation that relies on the magnanimity of animal lovers. We helped out by taking some lovely dogs out for walks which, while only a small contribution, helps to keep them happy and exercised, and allows... More

Visited this place on a hot afternoon. We managed to attend one of their daily tours. The place is superbly run and the dog enclosures are well planned and provide a space for the dogs to stretch out. Visit, walk a dog and make a donation to a worthy cause.

Must visit if you are anywhere near. These guys do a great job in caring for the sick animals of the island and education to the locals on animal care. They also have a dog or cat adoption scheme, Or just go help out they are always looking for volunteers

If you like animals, stop by this place for a tour or just to play with some cats and dogs. They are doing an amazing job helping control the pet population in Thailand and care for sick, injured, or abandoned cats and dogs.

This is, probably, the most worthwhile thing that I have seen in my months of travel in Asia. Julie is doing a great job, as are all of the staff and volunteers. The business model is incredible and I recommend anyone who likes and/or misses animals whilst away on vacation to take a trip up here and give a cuddle... More
