Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting.

Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

Great place to visit while in Lanta. The volunteers there do great work with the animals on the island, looking after stray cats and dogs and finding homes (local and overseas) for them. One of their aims is also to change the mindset of the locals in relation to the animals on the island. We did a tour of the... More

Such a great place to visit, the volunteers are so friendly and informative. What they do for the animals is amazing. You can take dogs for a walk and cuddle the cats and kittens, they also take you on a tour to tell you about what they do. Make sure you visit while you're here!

We took the kids and they loved it. My son especially enjoyed walking one of the dogs after the tour. I would recommend going on a sunny day as when it's raining you won't be able to go inside the kennels and play with the dogs.

The history behind the welfare centre and how it is funded is fantastic. The fact one person created what is now a successful welfare centre to help sick animals back to health and find them forever homes around the world is magical. Good on the volunteers here and all the people behind this. If you don't get a chance to... More

Very friendly staff and volunteers, they gave an excellent tour and you get to cuddle with puppies so what's not to love? Please consider stopping by to support this great organization-it's the only animal shelter on the island.

I love animals and knew I had to go to Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) when I went to Thailand. It is a great place and definitely worth more than one visit. I went there with a friend to join one of the tours through the animal shelter to get to know more about their work and about the animals they... More

This place is really great, you can volunteer by walking dogs if you want, and they give you a tour and explain how everything works. Then they let you play with puppies! Just give a donation, whatever you can, cause they are all volunteers who work really hard and it's non profit.
