Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting.

Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

A lovely place to meet some cats and dogs. I was surprised a how clean the place is, considering they have I think 30/40+ dogs you couldn't smell them! You can tell from walking around the place is really well run and the staff love the animals. We went in the afternoon for a tour which was really informative, was... More

It was great to come here, have cuddles and walks with the animals and listen to all the great work they do for the welfare of the animals on Koh Lanta. Its something different to do for a day and a nice change!

To say we were disappointed with was an understatement. We decided to visit based on the amazing reviews and because we missed our dog at home so much we thought it might be fun to interact with the animals here. We showed up to the center about 10 am. It was very crowded and unorganized from the beginning. There were... More

I only had a quick visit here but enough to see how hard this team works to look after animals on the island. They are a small organisation and heavily rely on donations to get them through... please please go and visit, take a dog or two for a walk and donate some money to these wonderful people.

We heard we could walk the rescue dogs here, so we wanted to learn more. This is an operation of love and kindness! Volunteers are here around the clock to ensure that the islands pet population is safe and cared for. Tourist tip: if you do want to take the dogs on a beach or jungle walk the best times... More

Awesome cause. Had to pull my girlfriend out of there so she wouldn't adopt all the dogs and cats! :-) Really nice spot to go take a tour.

I think I have summed it up in the title of my review. It really is an amazing charity. The work the volunteers/staff do on a daily basis is beyond words. They give their hearts and souls into the animals that are taken in. We ended up falling in love with all of the cats, but two of them really... More

We visited on our 3 night stay in Koh Lanta & were given the free tour around the centre. The work the staff & volunteers do is amazing & changing lives for the animals they treat & for the people that adopt. A must see on Koh Lanta.

We went because we wanted to see how they are doing and wanted to make a small donation. They are doing a really good job and really need help and donations. So yes really worth a visit.

We visited here the other day during a bad spell of rain. The volunteers do amazing work and it's definitely worth going and having a tour if you are a cat and dog person. The cats and dogs are incredibly good natured, a cat called Tato (I think) sat on my lap for about 30 minutes which was very cute.... More
