Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting.

Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

If you have a little spare time make sure you go here and join one of their tours. The place relies on volunteer work, donations and adoptions and it is amazing how much effort they put into socializing the cats and dogs and educating about how to treat animals. If you know in advance (10-14 days) that you'll go to... More

Visited this amazing centre today with my partner and it was just so inspiring. From the tour to walking Brutus along the beach, every second was memorable. The tour taught us so much, how they care, treat and save each cat and dog. The kennels and space where they live is extremely clean and spacious for the animals to have... More

Was shown around by a lovely friendly lady who told me all about the charity. At no point was this a hard sell exercise, quite the contrary. They instructed me with a lovely dog (bashful) to walk, stubborn but lovely!:) and showed me around. Was a great experience😊

Such a lovely visit! Took some charming canines for a walk. And lovely to donate to a great cause! Just turn up- they do tours at certain times but we went and chatted to the volunteers and then offered to walk some dogs after playing with puppies and kittens!

These people do a great job with the animals! Absolutely heart breaking! There are guided tours multiple times in a day and you can take a dog for a walk or swimming if you want to. Also you can make donations or buy t-shirts etc. All the money goes to the animals and the welfare! We went there twice on... More

My wife and I went to LAW 18.08.16. We were shown round by Matt out front and Joe for the inside of the centre, both were highly informative, affable and really lovely caring lads! We got to meet three girl puppies out front in a play pen alongside the free roaming cats and kittens. Matt delivered a talk about the... More

We visited in low season and dos the 12noon tour. Was great to see all the good work they are doing in the centre. As it was right in the mid day sun we had to come back later to walk the dogs. That we did, and myself and my girlfriend had the opportunity to walk 2 beautiful dogs. They... More

I love what they are doing - helping animals that have been treated badly or who do not have the resources to have a nice life. They take in animals that need help and restore them back to health before they help them get adopted! They are a non-profit organisation, so all money raised goes to helping the animals have... We visited Koh Lanta Animal Welfare centre today and took Sydney and Jango out for a long walk followed by a tour of this wonderful facility. I would highly recommend coming and taking a beautiful dog out for a walk or just to come and pat the puppies and cats. Great work by the volunteers here. AWSOME

Everyone working at the establishment seemed to be very passionate and knowledgeable, so we had a great tour and got to play with some adorable puppies and kittens. Fun couple hours!
