Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting.

Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

Lanta Animal Welfare is a must visit for every animal lover. I'm allergic and still cannot resist this place! This year they had kittens that I just had to cuddle despite the horrible rash I get. Adorable things. I recommend taking the hourly tour. The volunteers taking you through the premises are the sun and all the great things they... More

I absolutely love cats and dogs, so when I read that their was a sanctuary near our hotel, it was at the top of our list! It doesn't look like much on arrival... there was a little house with 2 playful kittens in, with a litter tray with some diarrhoea in, and lots of cats running around that you could... More

We first visited Lanta Animal Welfare 2 years ago and took 2 of their dogs out for a walk, which was so lovely as we were missing our own back in the UK terribly! This place is really well set-up and everyone there is so caring. Has really inspired me to possibly open a welfare centre in Mallorca when I... More

These guys really do an amazing job. It's so unusual to go anywhere in Thailand and not see scrawny, hungry dogs & cats. Can't praise this place enough, it's lovely to visit, they do everything they can to help the island's animals. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

First time at Koh Lanta and visit this place. Really nice to see how much people care about animals. Please visit here and help them. Lovely volunteer and 100% of animals lover. They also have some souvenirs to sell by this just like you donate. You can also bring a doc to take a walk on the beach.

These guys are the most loving and genuine people I have met so far on my trip! Heading down to the animal welfare I was a little unsure what to expect. When myself and my parter arrived I was just taken back by all the hard work these guys do. All volunteer work, so these guys don't get paid for... More

Visiting the Lanta animal welfare was a great experience and restores in some way faith in humanity. These people seem to love what they're doing - taking care of homeless, abused and injured animals (mostly dogs and cats but even monkeys seem to be brought there from time to time). The animals are examined, sterilised, vaccinated and undergo - if... More

A really nice, non profit charity with lots of selfless volunteers. The guided tours that run regularly throughout the day are informative yet casual. The animals are all lovely and no 1 priority is trying to get animals adopted as well as sterilising stray animals.
