Lanta Animal Welfare (LAW) is a non-profit organization based on Ko Lanta. LAW's objective is to relieve the suffering and pain of the animals on the island through sterilisation and care. We are open to visitors everyday from 9am to 5pm when our volunteer staff will happily provide a guided tour of the shelter. We have lots of friendly dogs who would love a long walk and cats who would like a cuddle! The dogs spend their days in grassy outdoor pens, so like everywhere in Thailand, it's best to wear insect/mosquito repellant when visiting.

Our major sponsor is Time For Lime bar, restaurant and cooking school, without their valuable support we would not be here.

This is a nice place to come especially if you miss your pets back home, many cats to pet outside and designated tours with dog walking when it is cooler in the day. All the animals seem happy, the cats are all friendly and happy to be petted or scratched under the chin. The place runs on donations so there... More

A wonderful animal welfare centre which allows anyone to go and see the fantastic animals that live there and the great work everyone at the centre is doing. If you were to go I'd recommend visiting at dog walking hours ( 9-11am and 3 - 5pm) so you get to take a dog for its daily walk. A must do... More

Must visit if you are in Lanta, they offer a free tour every hour and the chance to walk the dogs and pet the cats. The service they provide is amazing, rehoming animal all across the world, treating strays and ensuring their safety, and teaching the new generation about animal cruelty. They are helping other islands too! It is hot... More

What a great job these guys are doing! We visited twice during our stay of only a few days, had a tour on the first day and came back to walk some dogs! Definitely worth a visit!

We visited a couple of times whilst we were in Koh Lanta, the staff are very helpful and the tour is a good insight into the daily lives of the volunteers. We took Lipe on a walk the first day and he's a lovely boy, hoping he'll be adopted soon! Then the next time we took Ivy and Munroe (who... More

A bit tough to find them, but not impossible. Lovely gang of cats, and dogs, they are so adorable, buy something from the shop that will be a memory forever, and for them a small help to sustain the place.

Very nice place to visit if you have kids interested in cats or dogs. You can walk the dogs or just cuddle with the cittens. There is also a guided tour which is very nice even if you have to understand english and translate to non-english speaking kids.

We visited this centre after reading the Tripadvisor reviews. I did not realise until we did the tour that the centre is supported (and was started) by owner of the cookery school Time for Lime. It is apparent to anyone who stays on the island that there is some form of animal care programme in place, and this charity is... More

This place is well worth a visit purely to see the fantastic work these people are doing in Koh Lanta & other parts of South East Asia. Really friendly staff & lovely, well looked after animals! We walked the dogs which was great fun & stayed for the tour.
