The massagetherapist I got did not seem very professional, she was very stressed when massaging and did too soft at some places and too hard at other.
After my session I had fruit and a cup of tea, for an extra of 150 baht.
All in all a decent experience but won't come back, there's better places for half the money on the island.

Hello Fucloff!
Sorry to hear that you did not enjoy the massage. But I still guarantee that our staff are have long experience and certification for massages.
About the fruits and tea we never charge our customers for that,It is always included with all the treatments. It must be some sort of misunderstanding.
Best regards

When we first arrived, we saw that they were offering many different massages, all priced from 400-500baht up. Given that they are a little pricey, and the place looks nicely done, i was thinking this will be a nice experience.
We were told to take off all our clothes and we were given a cloth/shawl to cover up. So we laid down, massage starts. Firstly they kept on chatting which i find distasteful but halfway up, the lady who massages me leaves! She goes and after a few minutes another lady comes to continue the massage. No explanation, no sorry... Then after 5-10 minutes, she also leaves so i am left alone for the second time while my husband is massaged continuously. A minute or so later she returns to finish the massage but she finishes earlier than my husband's despite me being left alone for so many minutes.
I also want to point out that we were naked underneath the cloth while we were being massaged but the doors were open, people kept passing and our legs are on the air getting massaged in different positions... Not so relaxing.
Yes we were offered tea, fruit and a calm time after the massage but i felt ripped off and wanted to say something there. Given that i was upset, i didnt want to say anything then but i would never return.

My friend and I decided to go for a girlie blowout here. Frankly, it is the single worst spa experience I have had in my life.
Whilst my friend had her foot treatment, I had opted for a package involving shirodhara, a body scrub and a full massage.
Let's talk about the "shirodhara" treatment. This is meant to be a cleansing/opening for the 3rd eye. Whether this is hippie nonsense or hard science, I'll leave you to decide. I just wanted a relaxing destress on my holiday.... What it should involve is a funnel of warmed oil poured directly upon the 3rd eye chakra continuously.
Instead, I had oil so hot I thought it might blister poured over my hair line. I yelped a bit and asked her to check the temperature. The therapist then continued to rub my hair into a tightly knotted bunch whilst performing some sort of rubbing in the rough region of acupressure spots around my neck. She added more hot oil. Into my eyes. Blinded, panicked and afraid I screamed, jumping naked from the bed and called for eye wash or at least a glass of water.
I waited in agony as my friend's therapist told me to lie down, so that the oil could, you know, work it's way further into my eye. Naturally I refused. Eventually, I was brought two cotton buds, saturated with water, I guess to help rub the oil further into my eye.
Thankfully, my friend had by this stage managed to wipe the oil from her feet and acquire me a glass of water so that I could irrigate my.
I showered and we left. I had to ride a scooter despite my vision cutting in and out with the oil still there. Thankfully, Saladan is full of well stocked chemists and I was able to get eyedrops. An hour later, my vision is still hazy after some blinks.
I've had good, bad and mediocre spa experiences before, but never one that has endangered both my own health and that of those around me.

Me and my boyfriend visited Serenity Spa yesterday. We have been in Thailand almost 3 weeks and felt it's time for a massage! I chose Serenity because of the good reviews on Tripadvisor and because the pictures of the place were appealing, the place looked clean and fresh. We made a booking for 90 min of Asian Blend massage earlier in the day. We got very good and helpful service when we made the booking.
So, when we arrived to our appointment and my masseuse in "the reception" outside the facilitie was informed about what treatment we had booked, I could see "a rolling of the eyes", I felt like she was dissappointed she had that ahead of her, and as a client, that doesn't make one feel good and welcomed. Then we went to the changing room to undress and I was sure that next we would take a shower (which I really would have needed after a sweaty day) but we were hurried directly to our beds (in the big room with several beds, I had hoped that our massage would be in one of the more secluded and quiet rooms in the back...) and then the massaging began, and it all happened so fast and then it was too late for me to point out that I really would have enjoyed a shower first. I had read on Serenitys website: "Our fully experienced staff will advise you if the Asian Blend Massage is best suitable for you. You are then asked to take a shower. Here you will be given fresh towels and a comfortable wrap to wear, your clothes are stored in lockable lockers. Next you will be escorted to your private bed where the blinds will be closed for privacy." But there was no showering and nobody offered me that possibility. Having in mind that the massage consisted of coconut oil being rubbed in the skin, I would really have wanted to be, and feel clean. I felt uncomfortable and awkward, this feeling reaching its peak when my masseuse was rubbing my feet, which were nowhere near clean...So this was a big issue for me and it really bothered me and I couldn't relax.
Another thing that bothered me as well was the fact that my and my boyfriends masseuses were talking to each other and laughing througout the treatment. I don't understand thai and therefore couldn't understand their lingo, but I feel I'm in a quite vulnerable state when I'm being treated with a massage and I really didn't appreciate the ladies constant chatting, like they would be on their coffee break. I found myself thinking; "Are they talking about me?" Probably not, but that possibility made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't feel respected and treated with discreetness. I understand it's just their job but I think they should at least pretend that they are focusing on their client and want them to feel good. And I think silence and calmness is the rule number one for this.
Also the background music that was playing wasn't in my liking, it was too restless.
The massage technique itself was good , if yet a bit mechanic, but I really did not get the soothed, pampered experience I had hoped for.
In the end of the session another masseuse came to give me a head massage, she was a bit older and probably more experienced and I felt more comfortable with her.
Howewer, I give a big plus to the tea&fresh fruit that awaitened us on the open sea terrace after the treatment. It was a beautiful setting.

I paid 350 baht for a foot scrub that lasted a maximum of 20 minutes
Very unprofessional
No tea or fruit service as mentioned in other posts
I was taken to a lounge chair and waited there for 5 minutes
Laid on a bed on my stomach so I had no idea what was happening
And the woman kept coming and going
Very little actual scrubbing done to feet and woman was just talking with another worker the entire time
When she was done she just walked away
Worst Thai spa experience I have had.
Also no privacy for massages
There was a naked man 2 beds over which was not very nice.

I'm a bit embarrassed to say... that I did the totally tourist thing of dumping my scooter on the windy mountain roads. I was super beat up after the crash, and I'm glad that I had the forethought to book a massage at Serenity Massage and Spa ahead of time. So, I hobbled my way to make my appointment for a 2.5 hour thai massage.
As soon as soon as I arrived, the ladies outside were giggling, because they knew what I had done. "Are you ok? What happened?" they asked... Rub it in, why not!? It was all in fun, however. I got showered up, and my masseuse patched me up and cleaned my wounds. She reassured me that she would take good care of me, and she did just that.
It always amazes me how powerful these tiny thai women are! She was twisting me up like a pretzel! If you like strong pressure, you'll surely find it here. I swear that this lady has healing powers. I went in not even being able to lift my arm. I left feeling great and regained some mobility. The next morning I felt way better than I could have imagined! Luckily for me, I took care of my shoulder right away. Well... Serenity Massage and Spa did anyway.
I would go back without hesitation. It ended with some delicious snacks and tea, while I overlooked the bay. What an experience it was!

Prior to coming to Serenity, I read the good Tripadvisor reviews and decided that it was worth trying. I emailed Serenity to schedule an appointment. My email correspondence with Serenity was great; they were quick to respond and wrote in good English.
When we arrived, we were greeted and directed to select our massage package. I selected the 60 minute Swedish massage and 60 minute renewing facial. My husband selected the spice package: Swedish massage (instead of the normal Thai massage), foot massage, and aromatherapy oil massage for a total of 2 hours.
The Swedish massage was excellent and much more intense than the massages I have received in America. The coconut oil they used was nice and not overwhelming or too oily. The renewing facial was soothing and extremely relaxing. The mud was subtle and didn’t sting or itch.
My husband’s foot massage and aromatherapy oil massage were also great. He said they were moderately aggressive, but still relaxing.
Following the massages, we sat outside on the pier and ate fruit while enjoying tea.
Overall, we had a superb experience. The staff was friendly and professional. The services we received were exceptional and of a quality worth more than the price. Excellent value.

This spa is a bit more pricey but if you're looking for a masseuse that speaks English, are professional and a clean environment, it's worth it! Sure you can pop into any massage shop in Lanta but it's like anyone can be a masseuse here. At this spa you can tell the ladies want to do a good job. I felt very welcomed and taken care of. My skin has been dry and flaky due to heat rash so I asked for a body scrub recommendation. I did the tamarind scrub which was divine followed by an aloe and lavender oil massage. My masseuse really made sure that all my dry skin was scrubbed off. You can also shower in a clean and spacious bathroom. Of course the cherry on top is the deck and the fruits and tea they give you at the end as a free service. People need to realize how cheap massages are in Thailand and how long these ladies work before complaining about price. If you don't care about quality then you can pop into any place. My skin, on the other hand, has never felt softer!

Please don't waste your money on the beach massages! Come to Serenity. For 400 thb for an hour massage, it is the best deal ever. We went for a combo body scrub/massage for 1.5 hours and paid 620 thb/person. After the massage we had tea and fresh fruit on their back patio over the water. It was so lovely. Very hygienic and good service.

Overall a nice spa. At this point I have been to spas all over Thailand, so I know that what occurred was unacceptable. I got my underarms waxed, which is an uncomfortable situation in the first place, and the lady who was doing it was chatting with another staff member the whole time. It was infuriating. They were also asking me questions about where I was from which is fine, but not when I am naked on a table, covered only by a blanket that was carelessly thrown on me, in the midst of getting an area waxed which is very sensitive and painful. The manager really needs to step in and stop her staff from doing this.

Thank you for visiting Serenity and leaving this review.
I have asked my staff about this situation and its not completely correct is it???- you did receive underarm waxing followed by a 1 hour Asian Blend Massage that part is correct
1 staff stayed in the waxing room (10 mins) with you and the door was closed all the time - how could she chat to another member of staff she was alone. She did ask you questions like are you OK as she could see your very sensitive to waxing and moved around so much so she tried to make sure you where OK - the staff only has limited English so I am not sure how she could strike up a conversation with you although she may ask where you from as its a way of taking your mind of any discomfort, like a dentist may talk to you making you feel secure and safe. I understand you didn't understand this and I can only apologies, If she wasnt concerned or taking good care then you could say she was not professional
Whilst you where waxing the second lady was getting your bed ready for massage - after the waxing you was escorted out of the room to the next staff who massaged you in a different room? I hope the massage was OK you didn't comment on this - but I hope you enjoyed it and it made you relaxed.
for the staff needing to be more professional - I have a very good team who I regard as very professional from the moment you step in to the shop they take care of you in every way they can. We have many people enjoying the polite friendly staff and have stated that many times to us.
thank you again for trying - hopefully you will return for a massage soon

Hello!
Foot massage cost 350-450 baht for one hour depending on which oil you would like. We have a lot of different treatments and spa packages, you can read more about them on our website. I can't link the webpage in the answer but google search "Serenity Koh Lanta" and it will be among the first results.
The distance from Twin Lotus to Serenity is about 2 km. We are located at the walking street close to the pier by the water in Sala Dan.
