We enjoyed a quiet stroll, after sunset, through old town. The Chinese lanterns look beautiful between the shops and shine softly in the night sky. Although, slightly unkept, my 6 and 3 year old loved the playground! They were also able to walk all the way down and up the ‘old town’ street, without feeling tired. We also had dinner at Pinto Restaurant - a tucked away gem.

A lovely small area to explore and a welcome change to find souvenir and typical nik nak shops to browse. Some quaint waterside restaurants to stop for a coffee/lunch etc along the way. Some authentic, old original buildings too.
Some reviews say you could spend half a day here but we found a few hours enough for us.
Worth a visit!

Nice to sit in the shade and watch the boats comimg and going. Nice clean rest rooms. It is quite a long Pier and in the sun can be very hot. Worth a stop to stretch your legs but not a lot else here.

A very laid back town to walk around and the pier is quite a distance to walk to the end. As it was raining when I reached there, did not stay for long to explore more.

We stopped here for lunch at one of the restaurants that had a scenic view of the sea. The street is rather quaint with numerous shops and restaurants along the way. Nearby is a newer long pier that you can drive out to sea on it.

A visit to Old Town is a must if you are on the island for a week and you have a scooter, besides the great morning street food and interesting shops and souvenirs, there is a awesome Chinese Pier Temple and the Old Town Pier is magnificent scenery. Well worth the visit, branch out and see the non touristy Eastern side of the island! Great day trip!

KoLanta old town is well worth a visit. Some may consider it touristy but we loved the old buildings, shops and restaurants but most of all the stunning views of the islands and shoreline from the end of the pier. If you are on a bike continue down to the south for some sweet restaurants overlooking the sea and islands. Look out for the monkeys in the forest as well.

Worth a walk to work off after lunch. Right by the old town, it’s very peaceful with great views towards the mainland on a clear day
