This place was amazing because you could only access from a few spots. The beach was a beautiful approx 2km long and even after storms was free from a lot of washed up trash. There are few bars and resorts to stop in and have...More

I stayed here for a few weeks, it was so lovely, I ended up changing my flight and sticking around. Staff from each resort on the beach pick up rubbish from it daily and so it is much cleaner than every other beach I visited...More

This bay is a hidden gem in Lanta. Probably the best place to set aside the sea and relax as it is not crowded and quiet.

There are several daytrips boats which can take you to other islands from Kantiang Bay. We stopped for a short dive at Ko Ngai, and got off at Ko Muk before the boat continued to Ko Kradan. Just ask at the hotel.

Currency Exchange Booths in Kantiang Bay Koh Lanta? (6 Replies)
I am going to Kantiang Bay in Koh Lanta in Feb 2014. Are there any foreign currency exchange booths in this bay where I can change cash/travellers cheques? I know there are ATM's available in this bay. If not, would you recommend traveling to a different bay on Ko Lanta to use a foreign currency exchange booths. - if so, which bays have these? If not, would you recommend taking cash (thai baht) or using the ATM's? Many thanks

Hi, It's well over 2 years since I lived on the island so I'm no doubt out of date but until someone with more recent experience comes along here's what it was like then. I wasn't aware of any currency exchange booths on the island, there were 3 banks,(see FAQ on right of this page for location but they were all a long way from Kantiang Bay at the north of the island) and one of them, next to Lanta Mart, had a dedicated booth with a teller window outside the bank. I used ATMs and...More

Best transport options fr Krabi airport to hotel inKo Lanta (5 Replies)
We are arriving to Krabi airport around 2 pm and need to get to a hotel at Kantiang Bay in Ko Lanta. I don't think our hotel provides transportation. What is the best way to get to our destination from the airport? Thank you!

You can go to Krabi town by Minibus, stay overnight and take the ferry the next day. Or take a private taxi from the airport directly to Ko Lanta, around 2.000 Baht.
