We spent 3 nights with Wyn and Bo in March 2010. All was planned before with emails. We were picked up from our hotel, chose food and drinks for the trip and zoomed out to where Pinnelle was anchored (32' Oceanis Benettau). Such a relief to leave the humid land. We sail back home so this was a means of exploring the area and getting a few sea miles with out the responsibility of bareboating. Wyn didnt disappoint, hes a skilled captain and float plane pilot back home in Canada in the winter (I wonder if you bothered to go this year Wyn?). We covered 25 nautical miles that first day in a decent force 4 and Wyn handed over the tiller. We got the impression Wyn would keep it steading for novices, this is more of an exploration with a beer in hand . Nights were spent anchored in bays. Its dark early so Bo prepares excellent curry then more beer and sixties selections from the Ipod to keep Wyn's stories flowing.
We moored up, snorkelled and took occasional trips ashore in the tender. Last night under the cliffs in Phi Phi Lau (of Beach fame) was amazing with phosphorescent fish and peace once all the tourist in longtails had gone.
Time aboared any small yacht is more like camping than high luxury. It gets sticky down below, batteries need conserving and the morning dip is over the edge... but this was the most amazing way to explore the beatutiful craggy islands off Krabi and Koh Lanta. Next time we'll head more southerly...better fish Wyn says!

Bubu is like one of these exotic beaches you can see in films. There is only one resort which consists of just a few bamboo huts with no electricity. The island has no infrastructure and everything is delivered by boats so it is the perfect place for people who need peace and quiet. We walked around the island, partly jungle, partly beach (about 1.5 km according to our GPS) and the beaches there are impressive. First of all, astonishing diversity, there are several little beaches and bays there is a pebble beach, sandy beach , rocky beach , one of them even resembles the lunar landscape. Finally we come to paradise and sandy beach. Around the beautiful views of the surrounding limestone and rocky islands, the water was turquoise blue but it was so warm, like in the bathtub. We sat there for about an hour enjoying the unparalleled beauty of the landscape, tranquility and wildlife. On the way back to the sea on the east side of Koh Lanta we passed many of small islands like this.

We had a great time with Lanta Sailing for 2 days. Wyn is a great host and is very flexible to ensure the trip is what you want it to be. You bring your own beer/wine (so if you run out, it's your problem!) and they provide food and soft drinks/water. Wyn takes you to islands near Ko Lanta for fishing, snorkelling, diving as desired. It was a really different way to experience Krabi Province away from the standard tour boats. It's a real sailboat (and Wyn's hobby and passion) - more beer and heavy rock than cocktails and tickled ivories!

Do not trust Lananta sailing. On their website they show deliberate boats fail year. We rented the boat Onyx (now they call it "Mora"). According to the website it is from 2008, but the boat is actually from 1998. It was denied by Vyn in Lanta Sailing when I mentioned it. I was later told that the other boats and this website also has wrong year. Patrice III is from 1998 and not 2008 as it says on the website

Obviously a clear strategy from Lanta sailing

The boat was owned by other people and the boat was completely ok and the crew friendly and gave good service. I recommend to rent the boat from other places than Lanta Sailing. Such scams have to be boycotted.

Thank you Wyn for setting up the highlight of our month long honeymoon in south east Asia! Wyn’s team arranged a 4 night 3 day excursion on the most beautiful catamaran. We were able to see all the islands in a very different way, free from overcrowded tourists and tailored to exactly what we wanted to do. Wyn was so easy to work with, very communicative, knowledgeable and helpful. We couldn’t arrange for a cook, so Wyn himself took us to the local markets to get food/ alcohol for the trip. We HIGHLY recommend booking any boating trips through Lanta sailing!!

Just had a lovely day aboard La Pinelle!!! Excellent service from our trusty Skipper (Wyn) who had us entertained all day. The whole day was well organised and the boat was very comfortable and clean. We met at the office in Chalong this morning and set sail soon after, we managed to stay on sail as the wind was good for most of the day. The hospitality was faultless and lunch outstanding. We will certainly be back next year for more fun aboard La Pinelle!!

We went on an afternoon/sunset cruise with Wynn and Bo and had a truly excellent time. Wynn is a great host and after stopping to stock up on beer we were soon on board. As it was a short 3 to 4 hour cruise we just pootled about off the coast catching the breeze, sipping ice cold beer and stopping to dive into the crystal clear water to cool off. The boat is well equipped with a range of life vests which was useful when the children (aged 5 and 7) went in for a dip. Below deck there are 2 separate double cabins and a separate sitting area which converts to another double bed, so the boat could comfortably accommodate 6 guests with Wynn and Bo preferring to sleep above deck under the stars. If we had more time then we would have gone for a couple of days cruise to Ko Rok and back.

If you are looking to explore the islands off Ko Lanta at a more relaxed pace and have a day or two to spare then this is the best way to see the amazing beaches of Ko Rok, Ko Mook and Ko Kradan avoiding the crowds of speedboat day trippers. Or if you want a different perspective on Ko Lanta, a relaxing afternoon or just want to do the Duran Duran Rio thing then I would highly recommend contacting Wynn as I'm sure he will be able to suggest the perfect itinerary.

Captain Steve was fun and accommodating! Had a great day of sailing, kayaking, and sun-bathing around the island and stopped at a nice local spot for lunch on the beach.

This was our second trip out with Wyn and was just as great as the first.
There is a good choice of boats to suit different budgets and group sizes. With just 4 of us we chose one of the smaller boats but had plenty of space and was very comfortable.

Went for a sunset cruise just off the coast, with some swimming, few beers and an all round good time. Didn't go to any of the islands this time, but had gone to Koh Haa before which was amazing.

Captain Wyn was very helpful and did all he could to ensure we all had a great time.
