interesting working temple visited by locals
Dec 2016 • Solo
This is a temple local people use for worship, funerals etc. The monks also work to give it artistic sights to attract more visitors. It is a good place to get an idea of what Thai people see and do at the wats where there are working monks residing as opposed to the many touristy or ruined temples you'll probably visit. There is a fancy crematorium building for burning the deceased and there are beautiful murals in the main prayer hall.

beautiful reclining buddha
Jan 2016 • Solo
The way is well signposted, also in English. Once you pass the 'Million Toy Museum' turn left onto Road 309, cross a bridge and after another 50 metres turn left into Wat Phanom Yong.
It houses one of the few large reclining buddhas in Ayutthaya.
