Good place to visit, lots of toys and Thai antiques things, made me recognize to childhood period. Calm place, covered by trees, nice to visit in the afternoon after been to warm places outside. Recommend!

It’s torture for a 3yr old who wants to touch everything. Lines of toys he wants to play with all in glass cabinets. Not a single toy to play with for him. No slides, swings, bikes. Nothing!
And dual pricing - why do foreigners pay more here? I can sort of understand dual pricing in a temple - I’m not Buddhist and nearly all Thais are. But in an attraction marketing to kids? Rubbish.
The only good thing was the staff - they were very kind and helpful.
Please Mr owner - make a room for children! Take 50 of those perfect toys out of the glass cabinets and let the kids play with them. 50 out of a million wouldn’t hurt, surely?
Add some swings, slides, beanbags and you’ll actually have an attraction for children.

Totally disappointed by this place, I never usually write negative reviews, however this place is a total let down.

Nice building, but the good stops there. It has loads of toys in locked cases and nothing really of interest, my kids were bored after 5 minutes.

After reading the reviews, I had decided against this stop. But it was the rainy season and we were feeling cooped up all morning. So we took a 50 baht tuk-tuk ride here when the rain slacked off a bit. Kids seemed to really enjoy it. Kid's admission is 20 baht, adults 50. No shoes inside, no air-con either. There is also a diner or cafe at the entrance out by the road but it was dead quiet so we didn't check it out.

Pro & Cons Visiting the Toy Museum

Pros:

1. Nice, decent and clean layout of the museum.

2. Has a cozy coffee shop.

3. Reasonable entry fee of Baht 50/person (for foreigner).

4. Has a small souvenir shop inside the museum.

5. Near to the Ayutthaya Historical Site (less than 5 km).

Cons:

1. No air conditioning for both the museum and its coffee shop.

2. No informative description of items on display.

3. Its not exclusively an all toys museum. Collection of Thai antiques are also part of the display.

4. Many toys are of the same kind.

5. Not so many souvenirs available. T-shirt and mugs designs are not that attractive.

6. No shoes allowed in the museum. Can cause inconvenient to some guests.

Sharing notes:

1. Good place to kill about half an hour to 1 hour of your spare time.

2. We spent only about half an hour touring the 2-levels museum.

3. If you plan to rent a bike, its within the cycling distance. But it will be hot and humid between March to May.

4. We drove from Bangkok (about 1 hour) and made only a day trip to Ayutthaya.

Fun to troll through this one-man collection of toys. Much to see, but no signage which could help make sense of what you are seeing. A pleasant little toy shop and bookstore which carries the owners delightful picture books. And a small café is attached.
The children who were there seemed enthralled.

Nothing special about this place to justify charging a fee. At the end, I wanted my money back and many people I've spoken too agree.

Pros: Beautiful Thai Paintings, Beautiful Building, Friendly Chicken farm around the back.

Cons: Just a collection of Western and Japanese toys.

Went with my six year old and nine year old. It is lovely, clean, cool. A bit novel and unexpected. So many toys- a lot of antiques and retro. Most behind glass. Fascinating collection. Nice little toy shop as well. Worth a visit if you like things off the beaten path. Not a 'top ten must see with hundreds of tourists'. Quirky and excellent though if your tastes run to the more original/novel.
