If you want to visit a place which is more reserved and private kind but on the other hand is closer to nature then you must go to see Bear Shola Falls. It is situated in dense forest. You can actually feel nature in its surrounding with chirping of birds and water falling from the mountain. Bear Shola Falls is a little heaven in the midst of forest. We came to know through a local that this area of the Western Ghats is a biodiversity point. We were staying in a company guest house around 1.5 km from the fall so we enjoyed walking up to the fall but it is hardly at a distance of about 3 km from Kodaikanal lake.

I would say skip your trip to Bear Shola Falls. There is no water and the acess to the Falls is not easy. Although it could be a nice hike to the Falls the path is not maintained at all. I would say the Silver Cascade Falls at least had some water and is easily accessible on the way up and down from Kodi.
