The Vijaya Stambha is a symbol of victory in Chittorgarh fort. It was erected by Rana Kumbha to commemorate his victory over Mahmud Khilji. The structure has a beautiful architecture. The structure is 122 feet high, in nine stories, which can be accessed through a narrow staircase. The internal staircase has also been beautifully carved. Must visit place in Chittorgarh fort.

You can pretty much spot the Victory Tower from anywhere in Chittorgarh. It still dominates the landscape after nearly 600 years and stands at nine stories high. Dedicated to Vishnu, the exterior is covered with sculptures and carvings. I read that one was able to climb the 157 steps to the top, to admire the inside walls's carvings and the views from the top. But during my visit in Feb'23, it was closed.

It is a majestic and royal tower, built by rana kumbha,to commemorate his victory against two armies.
The carvings on its walls are simply beautiful.
The staircase has been closed due to covid.
I felt proud as an Indian, while standing in front.
I wonder why this structure is not marketed by the Tajmahal. It has every quality to be one wonder of this world.
I also felt ashamed that there were monkeys and stray dogs around everywhere and people throwing garbage all around!

The Vijay Stambha is a tall tower built by the King Rana Kumbha of Merwar to commemorate his victory over the Sultan of Mulwar. The tower is 9 stories and over 40 metres high. Bother the interior and exterior is richly decorated with carvings and relief of Hindu deities. It’s also the first time I’ve seen a lion sculpture decorating a Hindu structure like this, although some of the temples in the Chittor Fort complex do that similar lion sculptures.

It’s possible to climb up all the way to the top. The steps are steep, but all well lit except for one floor. Views on each landing and from the top are excellent. Worth climbing if you have it in you. You also need to be careful around the area. The area has lots of monkeys, attracted by the number of visitors and the potential for stealing food.

On The Hill Area, Inside The Chittaurgarh Fort .
Ticket- Only The Entrance Ticket for Chittaurgarh Fort should be Purchase for all attraction of This UNESCO Side in The Fort .

Guide - yes, Have One of This very Large area , Better to search Guide very near to Ticket Counter , and see the ID CARD and DATE ON CARD , also fix the price before start the visit and should ask that what of the places he will go threw visit,
and should have taxi / cab / car inside the fort , for visit surrounding all area.

In all attractions, one of the Visit Point is Vijay Stambh.

Vijay Stambh is Near by Samadhisvara Temple and the other Side of Temple is the way of Gaumukha Reservoir

Known by the name of Victory Fort, this huge tower was constructed between 1442 and 1449 AD by Rana Kumbha. It was built in the admiration of Rana Kumbha's victory over Mahmud Khilji.
There are nine stories in this fort with each of the stories having its own individual balcony facing outwards. As one goes through the staircase one meets with an alternate view of either the central chamber or the adjoining gallery.
Vijay Stambh is a dedication to Lord Vishnu and has intricate carvings and sculptures of Hindu Gods and Goddesses. The internal part of the tower has carvings of weapons, musical instruments, and other tools used in that period. It is an excellent example of religious pluralism practised by the Rajputs. The highest storey consists of an image of the Jain Goddess, Padmavati. Also, the word Allah is carved nine times on the third storey and eight times on the eighth storey, all in Arabic.

Must have Water Bottles , Goggles and hat and proper shoes.

Do not take food items with in hands and bags because of lots of monkeys .

The Vijay Stambha or the Victory Tower built by Rana Kumbha is an imposing tower in the Chittorgarh Fort. It is actually the most prominent monument in the fort and is generally the first stop that most of the tourists take when touring the fort. The tower has beautiful carvings on the exterior as well as the interior. Some of the carvings have been mutilated by the invading armies of the Moghuls. Overall a beautiful piece of ancient architecture.

I visited Vijay Stambha in Chittaurgarh Fort in the mid of April 2016 with a business colleague. We visited Chittaurgarh Fort and its attraction including Vijay Stambha.

Vijay Stambha was our second point of interest in our itinerary provided by our tour guide of Fort Chittaurgarh. The Vijay Stambha means Victory Pillar in English translation. As the name suggest, it was built by the then King of Chittaurgarh to mark the victory in war over 2 enemies namely Malva and Gujarat.

The Pillar 9 floors tall structure with stairs leading all the way to the top floor. One can view the entire city of Chittaurgarh from the the top of this pillar. It costed the king around Rs. 9 million to built this tower in approximately 10 years time.

There are other point interest located in the same / adjacent premises of the Pillar which can be visited along with this attraction.
