This was such a magical experience. We got to the Golden temple at night and were blown away by its peaceful ambience and inclusive vibes. As far as I can tell, the main (and perhaps only) reason to visit Amritsar is to visit the Golden Temple. I couldn't understand what all the hype was about, until I visited myself.
