This place is called the Panorama Museum. There's the Summer Palace in the same premises, known as the Company Bagh. I liked both the places. it took us 1.5 hrs to go through the galleries. There's a short cut to the Summer Palace from the gate of the Panorama.
These are govt. museums and are very well kept' There is a parking lot too. People should spare time to visit it. From there I learned a lot more about Raja Ranjit Singh, which is just mentioned in the History textbook of standard 8.
The guards and caretakers were very courteous.

This place has the most exquisite weapons displayed used by the Great Maharaja Ranjit Singh Ji during different wars. Especially, the sword used by Maharaja Ranjit Singh looks very heavy and sturdy. Worth visiting and paying homage.

The entry fee to the museum is Rs.10/- per person.

A bit below average. Few loud paintings and life size statues is all there is. It is managed by few guards. Garden is not well kept. It is as if - no one expects any tourist here.

The museum itself is in ruins, its all locked up and ready for a refurb. I met the contractor on site and he explained that he was responsible for the restoration of the museum, using the old way of building. He could not use modern methods or machines.
The artifacts have been moved to a new site on the campus and you can some of the old wepons used by the Maharja and his life history.

I was inside the museum when my son was caught in electric shock as they have wires which are not covered and it is dark inside. When informed the officials they were not aware about this and started to check as you are barefoot inside the museum. Pls be extra cautious.

We hired auto to reach this place . around 15 minutes drive from Golden Temple vicinity.
This place is well maintained , one can sit hours in park. I like most the top room where there is sound effects of sword and battle.
For those who want to know Amritsar should go to this place.
Weapans of war and statues depicting the life of Ranjit Singh make it worth visiting
