This whole area is nice to walk around, do some window shopping. No vehicle zone makes it more easy to walk around. The statue itself is nicely done, great photo op due to all red background buildings.

This beautiful structure stands very close to the Golden temple complex and is nicely architectures. The statue of Maharaja Ranjit Singh on a horse on top of the edifice is a fitting monument to the great king. The entire area looks even more beautiful in the night. Under illumination.

Maharaja Ranjit Singh's statue, is a recent addition to the pathway that leads to the Golden Temple. The statue's exact location is between Town Hall and Jallianwala Bagh, you cannot miss it as it is part of the walk way to the Temple. This addition was one of the changes made to clean up the area around The Golden Temple, and kudos to the Govt. on getting this right. The design of the statue as well as the surrounding area, including the Esplanade reminds one of a Plaza in a European shopping area.
The statue is built on the theme of the greatest Sikh ruler, Maharaja Ranjit Singh, who was renowned to be a progressive ruler and warrior employing a lot of Foreign warriors, including Europeans and Pathans as part of his army. It is apt that the design of the statue is almost like an amalgamation of various cultures.
The statue looks resplendently white during the day, but it's at night, when the coloured lights add the magic to provide a really memorable experience. It makes it worth your while to pause there for sometime, take snaps, walk around the lovely cobblestone road, and take in the scenery- which is unlike anything you would have seen in this part of the country/world.

statue adorns the lush green Rambagh Garden. The statue shows Maharaja Ranjit Singh saddled on his horse proudly looking towards the horizon. The statue is a symbol of the Sikh power during the 18th century.

This was the first statue we saw on the street to the temple and is were most tourists start their journey on their walk to the Golden Temple. The street was vibrant with colour, people of all ages just excited and all so happy. This was a great place to start the incredible experience.
