Though situated in an interior place, this temple is mesmerizing for its sheer beauty. The Golden Temple is the replica of Durgiana Mandir. The sanctum is in the middle of the pond which is a sight to be held in eyes for ever. This temple is a must visit if you happen to be in Amritsar

The Durgiana temple also known as Lakshmi Narayan temple is a well known Hindu temple in Amritsar. Looks are similar to the Golden temple

We went there as a part of the package for wagha border. Not recommended to take special efforts to visit this place, though it falls on the way to railway station and sure deserves a small visit. It is a copy of the golden temple in all aspects excepts the surrounding water isnt as clean

Legend has it Durgiana Mandir was built to allow Hindu women to bathe and offer coconuts, which the Sikhs had objected to in the original Golden Temple! In any case, this temple, though a replica of the original, is by no means a poor cousin. The heavy silver doors with engravings of different 'avatars' of goddess Durga are a treat... More

An ordinary temple can be visited if time and energy both in plenty. This is a typical Hindu temple with Golden temple xerox type look alike.

It was my second visit to the temple. There is an OLD Hanuman temple beside this. We also enjoyed the Langer there.

We took a tuk tuk($2) for a 10 minute harrowing ride through Amristar streets to this sight removed from the main tourist area. Its a large tranquil 16th C pond with a lovely 1921 Silver/Gold Temple in the center. After circumambulating, we discovered more of the devout were attending an old side Hindu Temple to the right of the entrance;... More
