I stayed in the hostel for 3 nights in one of their mixed luxury dorms. I totally liked my experience. This hostel also has wifi, common room with tv, and a workstation.
I booked 3 tours with them -mid-night Golden Temple visit, India border tour and bicycle heritage tour. All 3 were amazing. I highly recommend you mid-night Golden Temple tour. The nearby area is also good, you may simply step out of the hostel to try some street food and explore the local market.
5 stars to this one!

I booked 5 Trips online. This was an easy process with good confirmation. The starting point of the Partition museum is less than ten minutes walk from the Golden Temple. Sam our guide was guide and he told us about the culture and heritage of the city. This included some hidden gems which we would not have found ourselves. This tour took us through side streets with a couple of food stops which was great. A great introduction and a great guide

I booked 3 tours with City on Pedals: Wagah-Attari border ceremony, street food (morning walk), and Golden Temple (evening). Really you don't need to bother looking at other tour companies.

Samsoon (Sam) was my guide for the Wagah-Attari border ceremony tour. I paid for the taxi pick up and return to /from hotel, added during booking it made everything very easy. The reason I say CoP's border tour is the best: you visit a historic garden/pool site en route, plus they time it so you will arrive in good time to grab great seats. I saw other tourists coming in late, sad for them because they missed the ladies flag rally and audience dance.

Gunveer was my guide for the morning street food walk. He knows all the good places for snacks, sweets, lime soda, and the famous bread stuffed with potatoes. If you're in Amritsar for more than 1 day do the food tour first! You'll eat a lot on this tour and it's all delicious.

Sam was my guide again for the Golden Temple evening tour when they're putting the holy book "to bed." This is a unique experience even if you are not Sikh. (Just be sure to go back in the day so you can see the temple in both daylight and the night illumination)

Bottom line, CoP has great guides who know a lot about Amritsar and are keen to make your visit enjoyable. Definitely recommend.

Note: when I'm back home with longer internet access I'll add photos to this review :)

Our family has lost Amritsari heritage and finding City on Pedals enabled us to take in the temples, tea stalls and winding back lanes of Amritsar to a depth we would never have achieved alone. Our absolutely fantastic guide, Rabia, was genial, informative and professional with a great sense of humour. We felt safe in her hands and her local knowledge revealed so much to us. This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for us and City on Pedals did us proud. All I can say is, "just do it!"

Just finished our Wagah Border tour!! Rabia was lovely and very knowledgeable. Great English and really explained everything.

The car was great. Good AC and tons of room.

We are doing The Golden Temple tour tmo and disappointed she won't be out guide.

She new everyone at the border as well. Very friendly & social.

I even got to run with the Indian flag and the crowd went crazy. Made me tear up that they were so happy I was running with the flag.

Thanks Rabia,
Aimee & Mike

Not much to write. The tour guide met us on time in the place set for tour start.
No complaints about the tour guide. He was very nice and polite.
My only issue is with the tour not being that interesting. Maybe it was my expectations but unless combined with the Golden Temple, it doesn't seem to have much heritage to be named an heritage walk.
Also, I recommend not asking the customer to write a feedback at the end of the tour infront of the guide. It made us very uncomfortable and we had to write a recommendation we didn't really believe in.

I apologize for this! I believe we didn't do our work well to set the expectations right (Golden Temple is part of our other tour itinerary). This is new learning for us and we will brainstorm on how to make tweaks to our itinerary. To be completely fair, we didn't receive any such feedback from our previous 400 guests who took this tour and it seems we got deluded with the success. Thank you for pointing this out. I assure you would have a 10x better experience the next time you are with us.

This tour really made my visit to Amritsar come alive. To see so many of the "hidden gems" in the city that I would never have seen by myself. The tour guide, Aman, clearly enjoyed his job and knew so many interesting facts about the places we visited. I even booked the tour at very short notice (the night before!) and they were happy to accommodate me. I'll definitely do this tour again the next time I'm in Amritsar! A must for all visitors to this lovely city.

As a full-time travel writer, I enjoy exploring popular tourist traps, along with finding local, hidden gems. Recently, I visited India for the first time and one of the cities that I explored was Amritsar. I wanted to see the Golden Temple along with other tourist attractions, but I was also very interested in finding cool, local places to sightsee, take photos and to eat.

One memorable early morning, I went on a fantastic bicycle tour with City on Pedals. Rishab and Michelle (the founders) were amazing! I learned so much about the history of Amritsar, visited some fantastic spots that I would have otherwise never seen, ate the most delicious street food and met so many small business owners (generation to generation businesses) that it was definitely worth sacrificing a little beauty sleep. Actually, I’m all about supporting locals and through this bike tour, this is possible; plus, you get to see more of the city in a short amount of time. And all the while you keep active while having fun.

This bike tour was one of the highlights of my trip to Amritsar and it totally made me fall in love with the city, it’s people, the Amritsari food, culture and especially the off-the-beaten path sites visited. I highly recommend it.

I want to appreciate the City on Pedals team for this amazing tour they provide. It is really awesome to re-visit all those places and lanes where you use to visit while growing up. All those street food places where you find authentic and finger licking snacks. It was an amazing experience down the memory lane.

As a Sikh, this visit was of course very special especially since it was my first time.. Sam was very good and knowledgeable and went out of his way ( spending some extra time to allow me to have a meal in the temple as well although it was not part of the tour)...His understanding and explanation about the temple and the Sikh religion is excellent.Thank you Sam... highly recommended
