- Rohan RChennai (Madras), India2 contributionsVisit to yorkWe had a fantastic experience with Hrutik and he exceeded our expectations. We went to 2 very different wineries, a more modern and contemporary, and the another, smaller, family run. The diversity was wonderful to fully understand the different types of wines and approaches in the vicinity. There was no push to buy wine, but we did coz he made us felt while tasting you can't miss the same. Additionally Hrutik went to great lengths to ensure we had a stellar experience on our overall trip and offered recommendations for restaurants, tours, and must see areas of interest. He really cares about his clients and views them as friends for life. Wonderful day, excited to share our wine with friends.Visited November 2023Traveled with familyWritten November 21, 2023

The ambience was great and with the informative tour and tasting by hrutik, made the experience better. I could ask any query regarding the winery and it was replied by enthusiastic answer. Hope to visit soon again.Visited February 2024Traveled soloWritten February 19, 2024

It was very worthwhile. Unfortunately the factory and vineyard tour was not available but we were not advised of this when checking in. We then the visited the Cellar Door bar and had delicious chilli paneer with a bottle of Arros. The lawns are great but the view of the lake is spoilt by a overbearing construction site on the property's boundary.Visited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 24, 2024

We visited York after visiting Sula, York is much smaller than Sula but when it comes to service and peace (and also price :-p ) it is soo much better. The staff is very polite and they offered good service. Me and my friends loved Late harvest Chenin blanc which is sweet and goes well with Indian spicy food. I would recommend everyone to go to Sula click lot of pictures and then go York for wine tasting, dinning and the tour.

5 of us dropped into the York tasting room. I had sent messages asking if we could get a tasting session around 5.30pm. They responded that tasting and tours end at 6pm so to try and come a little earlier. Byt this time we had already seen a couple of vineyards and really didnt want to the tour or for that matter the listed wines in the 3 tasting options. So we simply bought a glass of 5 different wines we wanted to taste and simply sampled them ourselves. Overall the wines are nothing to scream about. But the tasting area has a lovely view of the lake and the fields around them. Guess its worth checking out the place and the wines only if you in the area.

it was a pleasant experience with tasting. Nothing great to note. was sold wines with 10% discount that's pretty funny. being at the source, there needs to be considerable discount for the attraction.
ironically the wines are not freely available in the market.

It is located very close to Sula Winery on Gangapur Road. It had a restaurant and wine tasting on 1st floor. The view from top of winery and surrounding farms and lake was very good. I bought my favorite York Chardonnay which according to me is one of the best white wine in India.

Beautiful place, perfect setting for an evening dinner. The sunset here is amazing from the upper floor. The live music is average. The place has noticeable improved after Sula takeover. Food pricing is reasonable and quality is excellent.

York undoubtedly has a better view, better quality wines and more relaxed and peaceful ambience compare to the more popular and touristy Sula. For those who prefer to relax with not too many people around and in peace and want to avoid the mad rush at Sula during weekends, this is a place to be at.
Best time of the day to visit is after 5 in the evening as the view with sun setting in gets even better.

We've just spent a few days in Nashik where we visited the Sula Vineyards which we thoroughly enjoyed but both the tour and wine tasting were too rushed. Much better and far more relaxed was the fabulously situated York Winery. We spent a good couple of hours tasting some great wines overlooking the lake. Special mention should go to the staff especially Viraj for making us so welcome and sharing his knowledge with us. Well recommended.

Can we purchase , in Nashik, various varieties of grapes for eating to check the taste.
Written October 28, 2016
Yes, but during season only. Grapes are generally classified in to two groups; viz. Wine variety and table variety. You cannot consume wine variety as they have higher acid levels, hence can be sour and sometimes burn your mouth. There are lot of table varieties and are further classified in to two groups; viz, white and coloured. May be you can land your hand on say more that 30 varieties if you spend a day scouring for them during mid Feb - march. Hope this helps.
