Situated about 20 km from Munnar on the "Munnar-Topstation" mountain highway route., Kundala Dam is a picturesque tourist spot with the dam is built on River Periyar, and is surrounded by the green Western Ghats mountain range.Kundala Lake offers an unforgettable experience to tourists and you can get on a pedal boat or a rowboat to explore the lake and enjoy the views. Kashmiri shikara boats, too, are available for rent at Kundala Dam Lake Munnar.

There are three place you can do boating in Munnar.
Eco Point
Mattupetty Dam
Kundale Lake
Amongst all three my recommendation would be Kundale lake.
Everywhere boating price is INR 200 per person.
They have Kayaking, Round Boat and Parel boat available.

We drove on to this dam to get away from the crowds and find a boating option. The views here are just as good and the boating was available - they didn't close business for lunch. My friends ventured out in a boat - they didn't row - and enjoyed 20 minutes out on the water. I stayed near the water's edge sitting under a covered platform. This place has stall sellers too but nothing as hectic as the other popular dam.

Of all the places I visited in Munnar hills over two days, this is the best place . The scenery surrounding the dam is just fantastic with so much of greenery and beautiful vegetation. The journey to the dam through the deep forest was just wonderful

This is just another Dam in Munnar. View is ok. One can spend some time here clicking snaps. Heat is too much, so one can carry an umbrella or cap.

part of pallivasal hydel project and comparatively less crowded than mattu petty dam, we were able to enjoy the scenic environs pleasantly pedalling our way over placid waters of kundale lake. Groves of towering eucalyptus trees along the shore line presented a fascinating view, enhanced by the misty green over the distant mountains. A setting that is bound to take one far beyond workaday world into a haven of bliss...

This place is more picturesque and serene than the Mattupetti dam in terms of natural beauty, but one differentiating factor is - you get to enjoy slow pedal boating here whereas Mattupetti dam is more famous for the short speed boat ride! This is a nice place for a relaxing family picnic, you can simply sit down and hear the many birds chirping in the huge trees near to the lake. This is not so near to Munnar, so be prepared to organize your timings such that you have your meals at Munnar town.

It looks like a very old dam and is indeed a rare sight where one could actually walk over the dam with no or very less traffic. towards the evening it gets very cold as the area is open and not much to do around

We are planing to visit Alleppey and Munnar in Nov 1st week. How is road condition after recent flood? Is it safe to visit that time. And how about NIPAH virus
Written September 24, 2018
By the Month of November things will be normalized....Road conditions cant be predicted as it has been affected Kerala Seriously...but goverment is tring very hard for proper transport as very big part Kerala economy is dependant on Tourism...Munnar will be safe destination as its not too much affected by floods due to its hilly area
Alleepy is most flood affected area due to backwaters
But it will be cleared by Novemebr.I cant comment about Nipah Virus.

I am visting munnar in this month so can tell what spot can we see in 2days tell me spot name with there timing and entrance fee

Kundala Dam Lake, Mattupetti Dam, Top Station (On the Way to topstattion you can seen amusement park kind of with speed boat service in lakes),
Rajamalai Eravikulam National Park is the one place to visit. If you are found of elephant there is elephant safari facility near to eravikulam National Park.
I think this should be enough, because on the way to these places you would enjoy other sight seen points..
Hotels :
Pallivasal: Ayursakthi Riverdale Resort (Cheap And best for money)
Nature Zone Jungle Resort agoda (Safari tend is available also tree house.). beautiful. They have trekking facilities along with the package, not sure still available. Good View And Value for Money
Ela Ecoland Nature Retreat agoda, Tree House available, average facility but surroundings are beautiful. You will not be disappointing.
Thanks
