This was a revelation! Nimi is a young, internationally recognised cook and teacher and made us all feel at ease,. No matter what our level of experience. A fascinating guide regarding Indian spices was followed by three hours of cooking , then eating, the most delicious food. The kitchen backs on to a beautiful river setting and we had a great time. Well worth it!

Had an absolutely amazing time learning from Nimi! Her cuisine is indeed lip smacking and I am now able to reproduce some of her delicious and healthy recipes for the ashram I'm working for. She has an sparkly personality and is a real source of inspiration. Continue shining bright and spreading joy and outstanding food with the world!

An amazing afternoon spent with Nimi has taught me so much about Keralan food. As someone with fairly limited cooking skills and no previous experience cooking Indian food, the class was not intimidating and the explanation extremely clear.
Nimi starts with an in depth explanation of spices and how they are used in keralan cooking, how things compares to north Indian cooking, tips on how to cook with the spices and suitable substitutes if you can find those spices back home.
After this we started preparing the dishes Nimi had chosen for us, she gave us all a chance to get involved with various tasks and made sure to explain each step and answering any questions. After a few hours we could finally enjoy the fruits of our labour, which were delicious!
Nimi is very knowledgable, patient, humble and brought good humour to the afternoon. She even encouraged us to email her with any questions whenever we liked.
Nimi is understandably only able to conduct classes for 2 or more people. As I was travelling on my own, I asked if there were any upcoming classes already confirmed that I could join. She kindly organised a class for me and another solo traveller who had enquired and I'm so glad it worked out, the experience was amazing.

What a brilliant afternoon it was.
There is a reason why Nimi is one of the most recognized chefs in southern India. She knows so much about the traditional Kerala cooking style and will share her knowledge in such a friendly and fun way with you.
You will cook and taste things you have never before and realize that Indian food is so much more than Chicken Tikka and Palak Paneer.
Definitely the most authentic cooking class we have ever done.

Thank you Nimi for having us at your home.

It’s the third time over the last six years I have come back to learn more from Nimi. Nimi is amazing! She is professional, patient, very knowledgeable - an excellent communicator / teacher. All the rest of those on my course thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Nimi caters for all diets. The cookbook she gives us is in my opinion (I am a professional chef) a classic.
I highly recommend this experience, it is exceptional value for money. If you are within reach, do book a place on one of Nimi’s courses. You will be getting a very unique experience!

Nim is an amazing cook and teacher. The exterior of her house belies the beauty within. Her kitchen is so well designed as is her cookery lesson. Prepare to enjoy and feast and learn a lot. A most memorable experience and a lovely book to remember it by. Thanks Nim

Wow, Nimi is such an amazing individual! She is a mother to 2 beautiful children, runs her own cooking classes, teaches cooking at the school for children, and somehow finds time to keep expanding her business and creating more and more delicious meals! It was truly a privilege to meet and cook with her (she is kindof an undercover cooking celebrity!)

She taught herself how to cook and wrote and published her own absolutely beautiful cookbook. The class is great! We started at 3 and ended around 7:30/8. We went over all the spices and made a total of 5 different dishes from her book. We didn't make them exactly as they were written SO we could have a variation to add to the recipes. Her house/kitchen is absolutely lovely, modern and spacious, with a great view.

After we prepared the meal, we sat down at the table and enjoyed and chatted for awhile. You get your own copy of the cookbook included in the cooking class price. It would normally sell for 400 rupees on its own.

I would love to take her class again the next time I am in Munnar. It was probably the BEST meal I've had in India thus far, and so much fun to make. And I would love to make other dishes in her book....I would love to make ALL the dishes in the book with her, but you know, there's never enough time!

I would recommend this class to everyone who has an interest in preparing Indian meals and who visits Munnar!

Thanks again Nimi for the wonderful evening!

We booked a cookery course with Nimi during our stay in Munnar. There were 6 of us in total in the class which meant we could all take part in assembling the dishes. The first hour was spent going through Nimi's extensive spice collection, everything was explained to us - when its used, what it goes best with etc. etc. We then made chai tea and cooked a three-course meal. Nimi shared several tips and tricks that were not in her book (a copy of which is included in the price of the class). It was a great afternoon, really informative - we learnt a lot about Keralan cooking and the differences between southern and northern cuisine. I would recommend this class to anyone who enjoys cooking, or wants to learn about Indian cooking.

A great class in Nimi’s home where you will learn how to cook authentic Keralan cuisine. Nimi taught us about all the different ingredients in depth and we learnt a lot about Indian food and culture. Nimi’s story is very interesting; she is so inspirational, yet so modest! Looking forward to trying out the recipes at home... Thank you :)

I read about Nimi, and that she had just been given3rd place in the Global Local Cookery Book Awards. The Cookery School is at the back of her house, open to the elements (which means a lovely breeze, which is great when you are cooking in a hot environment). Nimi is a specialist in Keralan Cookery. She started by showing all the different spices and ingredients we would be using. We then did 6 meals from her cookery book. She gave lots of helpful hints on spices, alternatives, storage, and cooking. We cooked a fabulous fish curry, idlies, sambar, sweets, tapioca and a Keralan Beetroot salad. The Cookery lesson lasts from 5-7 hours, and then you can all sit down and eat. We were in a group of 10 (maximum number) of young and old. We could all take part in doing various tasks, and we felt very included. Nimi is a bubbly enthusiastic person, and her lessons are educational and fun. I would highly recommend this to anyone if they are staying in Munnar.
