Aranya Naturals is a charity that provides work for differently able workers in Munnar. As well as being a good cause their products are great (all natural dyed) and prices reasonable. You can see the process then with greater understanding of how it is done seek out pieces to love in the shop. For me this should be on the... More

Aranya Naturals is one of the four initiatives of Srishti Welfare Centre supported by Tata Global Beverages that helps disabled youngsters of the society especially from Munnar Area. At this project handicapped youngsters are trained and employed to extract natural dyes from the abundant natural resources available in Munnar and are involved in the art of natural dyeing. In the... More

Our driver was good enough to take us on to the centre after learning about it in the tea museum documentary. It was a very good visit and the processes well explained. A great initiative ahead of its time.

Travelled with my daughter here to see how caring and creative this place was. Got to meet some of the staff and had an opportunity to buy very unique and one of a kind quality crafted hand made gifts. Earlier we had an opportunity to see them made and the pride of the crafts people who put them together

This was one of my favourite places visited whilst in Munnar. I saw a whole range of dying techniques in operation and was then able to buy the most beautiful produce. I wish I had bought more.....real quality handmade items. Prices? For example - I bought the most gorgeous silk scarf ( long ) for £20 and love it.

We'd heard about this place from the homestay we were in and am so glad we visited. We were given personal tours around the paper and linen workshops where we saw young people who are 'differently abled' to ourselves (that's how it's worded in Kerala) who are given jobs that they enjoy and certainly seem to find rewarding. I found... More

I toured the factory and was impressed on all fronts. The workers seemed to be treated respectfully and the quality of their work was outstanding. I have seen a lot of Indian textiles and found their designs unusual and delightful. My wallet took quite a hit in the shop but I got beautiful high quality gifts for myself and my... More

We unfortunately missed seeing the factory working. When we pulled up the bus of workers was just leaving. However the remaining staff was kind enough to show us around, explain their production, etc. The block printing and dyeing processes are unbelievable. I was happy to support this worthwhile endeavor by buying gifts to bring home. Do not miss this if... More

The people working here are treated with real respect and kindness. The products they produce, reflect this and if you buy something - silk scarves being an example, you will have purchased something unique.
