Granted, the trip up to the tea estate is a bumpy ride! It seems they now take a shortcut through another tea estate which makes the bumpy ride only 1 hour long (instead of 2 hours). It was an adventure to say the least! Since I have arthritis I was worried about the trip. It it wasn't nearly as bad... More

Tea is liked by the most, but the tea gardens are to be liked by everyone, for sure. Munnar is really avery beautiful place, & the the tea gardens further enhances it's beauty. It's just an awesome feeling, greenery all around. It seems like the whole earth is covered by a green bed sheet. Not only that, the weather is... More

Hired a government tour guide. We were picked up from a meeting point by jeep and then made the sometime harrowing trip upto the tea gardens. This journey is definitely not for the frail or faint hearted as the road is not really a road but more like a rocky drive. Make sure you carry a light weight rain jacket... More

it was an amazing trip with my friends, Kolukkumalai is about 7,130 feet (2,170 m) above sea level and lies some 32 kilometres (20 mi) from Munnar. The hill top village is accessible only by jeep due to rugged and rain drenched roads covering upto 17 km. It is about a one and a half hour journey from Munnar town.... More

Takes an hour to cover the bumpy 8kms. route by hired Jeep, charging 2500₹approx. for the trip. It is advisable not to drive oneself, even though we are self-driving buffs- be it to Ladakh or to Bhutan. However starting early by 5 a.m. to catch the sunrise was a mesmerising event. The Tamil Nadu side views are breath taking and... More
