Fantastic first site of the place...

Try and walk a bit ahead, away from public to get a feel of the place and click some nice images there...

The "white sand" is actually almost white, unlike lots of other muddy beached of Gujarat. Camel ride is available from the parking entrance to about 2 kms inside the white sands area.Rannotsav, organized by the Gujarat Tourism is pretty clean and well-maintained.

The White desert is the main attraction of the Rann Utsav. Rann Utsav is a festival encouraging local handicrafts n clothes. The Desert is beautiful and is made up of salt and not white sand... I was there for the full moon but it wasn't as big as shown in some pictures... The tents around the desert are over charged... More

This is a solid sheet of gleaming white salt that stretches over the horizon. Lots of people turn up to drive around or walk around and it is a party atmosphere! Be SURE to bring SUNGLASSES and a HAT!! It is way, way off the beaten trail but there are quite a few other things to see out on the... More

I first visited the White Rann at sunset in summer when the salt was pink and the sky was like velvet. This time I visited in the bright winter daylight - the salt was gleaming white and the sky was a startling blue. This is a place I could return to again and again to see its different moods. You'll... More

We visited White Rann in Jan'2016. Permit and ID needs to be carried to visit the White Desert. We reached white desert in the evening when there was sufficient sunlight. Stayed there till sunset and waited for the stars to appear on dark sky. It was an amazing experience in its own.

Visited there during Rann Utsav & had a great experience. Was with my group, which added to more fun. Its a fantastic place to see Sunset & Moon rise (thats what we could see). The moon was really red and looked like sun (refer pics). In all a one time visit place for everyone to check out the beauty. Be... More
