Must visit place. Try on a non-holiday as picnickers can be an eyesore on this grand white canvas. Be prepared for some long walks. Preferable time late afternoon(for sunset) and early morning(for viewing setting moon) for good pics. No basic amenities at the edge so use washrooms at Gate while entering. The setting will be almost like snowy in the... More

The frozen salt which looks like snow, can only be experienced here. The place looks beautiful during sunset and sunrise. The trip should be planned well, as there is not much to do here besides the sunrise and sunset views. If one is staying at Rann Utsav tents, then there is a lot of activity going on inside like puppet... More

We visited here during the Rann Utsav. The white dessert has endless salt like a white canvas. The colourful camels and folk dancers add a splash of colour to the canvas, it's beautiful!

1. From Dhordo The White desert is usually and most popularly accessed from Dhordo ( where the tent city is put up every year during the Rann Festival). So people living in the tent city as well as all other people visiting Dhordo access the Rann from this location. Location : It is around 80km from Bhuj city. Acco :... More

The White Rann (Desert) of Kutch, with the Rann Utsav (Festival) is open only for 120 days every winter and is worth a visit for it's uniqueness - a vast flatland made of salt - white, gleaming - the only such in India, and perhaps, the world. The money and effort will be worth if viewed during the full moon... More

It is good to visit during weekdays as weekends and festival days are very crowded. Enjoy view of desert from Watch tower provide d by the authority. Be atleast 1 to... More

Visit around full moon night. White desert looks stunning with moon light reflecting. Facilities for travellers are of good quality. Craft bazar was little costly compared to handicraft shop in Bhuj. But lot cheaper compared to branded show rooms. Very good experience and fun to be there with family and friends.

It is a huge salt deposit expanse but loses the tranquility and beauty because of the huge crowd turnout. Needs basic toilet facilities.

Can't tell if the experience is better if you stay in a tent in one of the resorts. Vehicles can't go beyond a certain point. You have to take the shuttle bus. The last bus leaves at 8 pm, so you miss out on the view which is supposed to be spectacular on a full moon night... or be prepared... More
