This was a great recommendation by our driver, some of us chose to stay in the car and drive up the winding road to the temple, whilst others chose to get off at the bottom and walk to the top. Either way, once you get to the top and you can take in the views of Goa, you can’t help but feel relaxed. The temple is beautifully designed and has a real tranquil feel.

This is a beautiful Hanuman temple located on a hilltop in Panjim. A winding road from the main city takes you here. Quiet, peaceful and clean. You get a great bird's eye view of the surroundings from the temple. Visited in the morning and was surprised to find absolutely no one there...not even the staff...lol! That made it super quiet and private. Looks beautiful in the evening with the lights on. Can be seen from the roads leading into Panjim from Old Goa/South Goa, below. There are steps (a couple of hundred of them) leading upto this temple too from the road below. Worth a visit.

On the way, we got to pass by the homes of some prominent people of Goa. It's on a hill top, so better to take a cab rather than an auto.

The Maruti temple is among the most picturesque sights in Panjim. Located on the Altinho hill, just beyond the heritage district of Fontainhas, the temple is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. One can get here either by foot (a nice climb awaits) or by car (parking is a slight issue).

The templs is a peaceful place, where one can spend time in prayer. The real stand-out is the view one gets from here. Being at a height, one can easily see for a long distance and be rewarded with great views of the Mandovi River, Panjim and even Ribandar. The temple is worth a visit for the view alone.

Maruti or hanuman ji temple is very beautiful and is located on top of a hilltop. We went to the top directly by our car but one can go walking by climbing up the stairs. The view from the top of the temple is magnificent.

This is a beautiful temple, with a lovely view of Goa. The color of the temple is a warm, bright orangey-red, and the feeling of the place is peaceful. A few dogs were lying around taking naps. I did not take the stairs up to the temple from lower down, but saw a few visitors coming from below who seemed to enjoy the steps leading through foliage.

The Maruti Rai Temple is architecturally very well designed and has a fantastic location on Altinho Hill. The Temple offers scenic views of Panjim City from its premises. The Mandir is quiet and meditative.
