This is right opposite to Basilica of Bom Jesus. The church is beautiful and huge. It should be visited if you are interested in visiting places apart from beaches in Goa.

This is the largest church . Architecturally, Portuguese-Gothic in style, the exterior of the building is Tuscan and the interior Corinthian. In 1562, during the reign of King Dom Sebastiao (1557-1578) this cathedral was ordered to be built. The main body of the church was completed in 1619 and the altars in 1652.

This beautiful church is just next to the Archaeological museum and it totally worth the time you spend. The interiors are very good. See the photographs and enjoy.

If you visit old Goa, should not miss to visit this church, an art mixed with religion awaits you. Very quite place for praying or spending some quality time in silence. You can walk through the entire church and the exhibition place.

Worth a visit. May be combined with other places to see in this area. Comfy shoes, dress modestly - this Cathedral is still a place of worship, observe in silence, stay hydrated and use sun block. Indian Summers can be brutal for those not used to the stifling humidity. Grab an ice cream and sit in the gardens, or doze... More
