The journey is good from panaji to here From what I see it's mostly related to big churches . You may like it as you may not this kind of big churches in other places in India But if you are for fun and tight on schedule you can skip

The junctions are very well decorated with trees and bushes. You can see the old ship yard there. There are lot of churches in old goa. The Archaeological Museum is situated just opposite Basilica... Old Goa is a lovely place surrounded with beautiful Portuguese architecture everywhere you look. From the striking red stones of the Basilica of Bom Jesus on one side to the whitewashed Se Cathedral on the other side. Old Goa has a certain charm to it. It's hard not to like this place.A must visit.

The Archaeological Museum only had the ground floor open when we were there, and it wasn't too spectacular. Of course, they only charge 10 or 20 rupees, so no... More

First I want to share that Velha goa and Goa velha, both are different places. So when going with GPS, keep in mind. The place is full with Hindu and christian history.

At one time a byword for splendour, with a population of several hundred thousand sand, Goa's erstwhile capital, OLD GOA (Velha Goa), was virtually abandoned following malaria and cholera epidemics that plagued the city from the seventeenth century onwards. Today you need considerable imagination to picture the once-great capital as it used to be. The maze of twisting streets, piazzas... More

You can see the wonderful gardens and their upkeep, its an old monument of the Portuguese era when the area was replete with all... More
