History lovers will like this place for sure. With carvings dated back to 5th century, its mesmerizing to see them standing even in 20th century. Wouldn't recommend on a hot day and also not with young kids.
There are three different caves, located within 0.5km radius. Make sure you visit all three of them.

I agree many local people are giving no importance for this place. But for the visitors it is an opportunity to know more about history back to 5th century AD. High frequency local buses gives you very easy accessing to reach this place, auto rickshaws are the second option. Parking area is not available. The key attraction of this place is ARDHANAREESWARI idol which you can not find any where in South India. Ganesha, Vinayaka idols are in good condition. This place has importance for Buddhists and Hindus. Surrounding greenery is good but high traffic noise near to the caves will not allow you spend much time here. Good quality and tasty restaurants are available near to the caves.

This probably not known to many people who hail from the nearby vicinity and is a well kept secret. These caves date back from couple millennia and are multi storied carved in the hill. Probably used by Buddhist monks. These caves house a massive statue of Padmanabha swami which is very impressive. Some say this probably was a statue of Buddha which was later transformed. In any case the few visitors who go there do worship and put lights . Local folklore say that there are underground tunnels connecting these caves with Kondaveedu which is a town in Guntur district ( the capital of Reddy kings) in the 14th century although they have not been fully explored. You can see some carved inscription dating to 6 th century which resembles early Telugu language. All in all a great place to visit and should be able to wrap up in an hour or so. A must see for people interested in local history.

We stopped by here at night for a peek. Just as explained by locals, the caves are quite normal. Located in a busy area as well.

To be honest its a complete disappointment. Nothing much to see. To be honest i did not understand the history behind it. May be some sign boards can be placed to educate people about the history which will create some curiosity.
