Female Solo Traveler from Canada

I found Siwa Safari Tours while desperately trying to find a way to visit Siwa Oasis when other companies told me it was impossible. From the start Mohamed Badr was very helpful and after a few emails suggested I join a group tour for locals. I did and it was AMAZING.

First off, they are very well organised for the travellers. Second off, they deliver exactly what they say: price, time, activities included and are trustworthy.

I highly recommend them to anyone wanting to live this amazing experience in the desert. It was a highlight of my entire trip in Egypt.

A pre-Islamic burial sight, it has some simple tombs and an excellent view of the Siwa Oasis. The climb is steep but short.

Here you can watch the colorful pharoanic tombs and hear the story of the ancient Egyptian history in Siwa. View of the palm trees is amazing from upwards.

The place is supposed to have some tombs to visit. The attached picture is a mediocre hand-drawn map of the area! We ask about the tombs and they opened one for us and refused to open the other ones citing "COVID-19"!! What a disappointment!

the mountain of the dead consists of tombs, most of them are just open chambers now that are just empty. 2 of them still have the structure and paintings of the tombs and you can actually go inside and check the paintings all over the walls and ceiling, they look like they were done yesterday, very precise and neat. the top of the mountain offers a great view of Siwa where you find yourself surrounded by palm trees in all directions

the main "attraction" of this site is the four tombs, but they are locked away, so make sure you ask the staff to open the tombs to see them - Tomb of Si-Amun, Tomb of Mesu-Isis, Tomb of the Crocodile and Tomb of Niperpathot. All of them are small, and although the wall paintings inside are no comparison to any of the nobles tombs you'd see in Saqqara/Luxor, they make this site a little more interesting. - just one - from outside of the Tomb of Niperpathot of its red inscriptions.
The top of the Mountain (well, a hill rather), like everyone else has said, is a nice spot to see the two salt lakes on each side and the massive areas of palm trees with the town and villages dotted in between.
There's no amenities at this site - no toilet, no shop for water etc, nor is there any shade, and it can be very hot during the day, so bring your own water.

This is a mountain into which were carved many tombs for the upper class of the day. The majority of which have little left than a hole in the cliff. There are 3 into which one can go and see some interesting paintings. A pity the the guardian of the tombs does not permit non flash photography as this would help retention of our memories of the experience.

I cycled to the place using a Google map from Temple of the Oracle of Amun / Aghurmi after navigating through some narrow villiage roads that led me to the back of the Mountain where no ticket office was seen, so I climbed to the top from behind. But when I came down from the front side, the staff stationed in a half way hut stopped me for the ticket. Turned out the ticket office was down the stairs on the side of the main Matruh-Siwa road, opposite of where I cycled from.
The ticket costs LE100, used also for Temple of the Oracle of Amun / Aghurmi. No photo is allowed in the tomb, but the staff made an exception for me to take one - just one - from outside of the Tomb of Niperpathot of its red inscriptions.
The top of the Mountain (well, a hill rather), like everyone else has said, is a nice spot to see the two salt lakes on each side and the massive areas of palm trees with the town and villages dotted in between.
There's no ametities at this site - no toilet, no shop for water etc, nor is there any shade, and it can be very hot during the day even in November (when I visited), so bring your own water.
