My wife and I had an unforgettable time at Sani Lodge and Yasuni National Park! The trip started from the city of Coca where a guide greeted us at the airport and took us to board a river boat. From there it was a scenic three hour motorized boat ride down the Napo River to the docs where we got into Canoes for a short trip to the lagoon at Sani Lodge where we stayed in the Amazon Jungle for five nights. Every day was packed full of adventures. These included exploring the lagoon and surrounding jungle from a canoe, day and night hikes, wildlife viewing from a 35 meter tall beautiful huge sable tree platform in the middle of the jungle, exploring Yasuni National Park including a visit to the famous “saladeros”, or claylicks from river boat. We also had a Sani community visit where we were served maito, chicha de yuka, chontacuro, palmito, platano maduro, guayusa, cacao, and cafe right off the tree. It was great to meet "las mamitas" from the community and have the opportunity to purchase arts and crafts as well.

You certainly don't go hungry at Sani lodge, the food is wonderful, you have fresh squeezed juice at least twice a day, the service is great, our cabin was clean and had a nice view of the lagoon. I slept better than ever with the sounds of the jungle, no city noise, or artificial light to wake you. My wife and I were a group of two and we're always escorted by two guides in the jungle, Gustavo and Jose. They were energetic and knowledgeable and certainly added to the whole experience.

The amount of biodiversity is incredible. We saw six different species of monkeys, countless types of birds/parrots, reptiles (including an anaconda and caiman) and amphibians, insects, flowers, lots of medicinal plants/trees and fruit, giant paiche, and even fished piranhas. Gustavo and Jose knew about everything in the jungle and the names in both Spanish and English. This was a once in a lifetime trip and I highly recommend it.

Thank you Ecoadventure for organizing our trip!

We were a party of 13 that spent 12 days in Ecuador. Wlady took care of all our individual needs and was readily available to help us out at a moment's notice. He had carefully planned the schedule and made sure that all of us acclimatized well. We all ate good food despite being vegetarian and it being hard to find establishments that serve vegetarian food.

My original itinerary included climbing Cayambe, Cotopaxi and Chimborazo. The first acclimatization hike was supposed to be on Rucu Pichnicha. The park was closed. It was Christmas eve and still Wlady quickly replanned our hike to Guagua Pichnicha. We faced an ice storm on our Cayambe hike and most of us had to turn back. 10 of the team members were able to summit Cotopaxi. A small part of the team did not want to climb Chimborazo and changed the itinerary to accommodate an easier neighboring summit in Carihuairazo. Wlady arranged for new guides, split the group and was able to accommodate changes in an efficient manner.

He paired two people each with an English speaking guide. He rented out the equipment that we had not brought/owned. He constantly communicated with us and was very patient with all our inquiries. I was a newbie to this and he made my experience a memorable one. I highly recommend him and his team since they do give a personal touch. We were sometimes lodging in facilities where we were the only occupants and the hosts went above and beyond to provide good service.

We booked the 4 day Condor Trek with Ecuador Eco Adventure and were rewarded with one of the most spectacular treks we've completed.

Wlady did a great job coordinating our trek. Our booking request was a little complicated but everything worked out great. Communication was responsive and Wlady made our trip very enjoyable and stress free.

The Condor Trek was incredible! The scenery was gorgeous, our guide Monica was a joy to be with, our cook prepared wonderful meals, and overall the organization was great. Each campsite was unique with great views, the trekking was strenuous but had great variety, and best of all, there were no other hikers to be seen. We couldn't believe that we were the only ones on such a breathtaking trek!

I highly recommend booking this trek, there is little information online, but it is completely worth it. Also, wear the recommended mud boots.

I contacted Wlady, from Ecuador Eco Adventures to organise a climb to the mighty 6000+m Chimborazo in June 2022. From the beginning he was super responsive and professional advicing me on the best way to tackle this challenge. I ended up doing a couple of days hiking around their base camp and the Carihuarazo climb (5000m) as aclimatization with Ecuador Eco Adventures.

These activites were perfectly planned by Wlady's team which was an awesome group of mountain professionals, from the guides to the guys preparing meals and handling the accomodation. I stayed in the base camp refugio which was very comfortable (hot showers and WIFI!). Also had a look at the domos which are next door and look fantastic. Not really a tent but a mini house with a proper bed and bathroom.

The Carihuarazo climb was amazing. We started at 2am with torches and made the summit on time for the sunset. It is a bit technical in the end but totally doable for an experienced hiker and Wlady's guys were always on top of things to make you feel secure. We were three and we had two great guides. On the way down skies cleared and we had spectacular views of the Ecuatorian Andes.

Then the day of the Chimborazo came. After the proper acclimatization I really felt super prepared for it but unfortunately something very unexpected got on the way. On the way up to the mountain we started to get very concerning news about road closures caused by indigenous people protesting. Wlady kept me informed at all times and, as the situation seemed to be escalating, he made the call to abort the hike to not risk me getting stuck in Riobamba and unable to get to my flight to Galápagos on time.

It turned out this was the right decision. As I am writing this review, almost two weeks after, the roads are still closed and the situation only got worse with lots of tourists stranded there. Wlady's call saved the rest of my trip. Thankfully he was alwyas properly informed and concerned about the situation. I have been following him on social media and he has been organising flights to get people back home.

Moreover, he refunded the money I paid for climbing the Chimborazo. This says a lot of his professional ethics considering the situation he was at that point, unable to get any bussiness due to factors completely external to him.

I think I was particularly unluckly to be there at the wrong time. Ecuador is a beautiful and very welcoming country and the hiking/climbing around Riobamba is just amazing. I have no doubts I will come back to try the Chimbo again and I will surely do it with Ecuador Eco Adventures.

Wow! What an amazing experience this was. During 2020, I picked up mountaineering as a long time yearn for exploring my physical and mental capabilities. There is Something magical about climbing the highest peaks on earth. I decided to dive in and climb Chimborazo. When I was exploring options for guidance on the beautiful volcanos, I came across Eco adventures. As all the other guide services were way more expensive, Eco was local and offered way more of an authentic experience. They also offer some of the best guides in the area.
When I reached out, they were very communicative, always with a quick response. From the pre-planning to post climbs, eco delivered their best.
On the volcanos, the guides were all very well trained, friendly, and knowledgeable. My personal guide Christian was a world class rock-climber and such a patient soul when I needed more instruction for certain technicalities.
I highly recommended this guiding service as it’s an overall best option in my eyes. We needed to climbing 3 volcanoes but will be back for 3 more soon!

I booked the Cotopaxi and Chimborazo climb with Ecuador Eco Adventure. Overall, okay experience, though it could be better.

The weather was somehow unpredictable so we tried Cotopaxi twice and ruled out Chimborazo. During the booking process and under the undesired weather condition, the communication was not entirely prompt and clear but no big deal.

What really upset me was - I'd never image my guide was yelling at me on the Cotopaxi slope: "You take breaks every 5 steps", "See this guy, he started at 1am and he is here with you". That was 3am and I was lucky enough to swap guides with a group member and with the help of the new guide I did make it to the summit before 7am and return to the refuge before 10am. However, to be honest, the whole experience just changed from 3am and after. People have different climbing philosophies - the journey to the summit is way more important to me than reaching the summit itself. And I was clearly aware of the safety measurements - reach the summit before 7am and return to refuge before 10am so I guess I didn't deserve to be treated in this way. In reflection, if thinking from a positive perspective, probably my original guide had high expectation on me, as I was not completely new to climbing. But I did see myself as a newbie this time as it has been years since the last time I was on a mountain and my body was also recovering.

Anyways, was thinking I'd return to do Chimborazo but after this experience I'm sure I won't.

We used Ecuador Eco Adventures for a summit attempt for Cotopaxi. Everything was well communicated and taken care of ahead of time. Emails were quickly responded to, and we used WhatsApp in country to tidy up any loose ends. Our park permits, refuge reservations, and equipment rentals were all ready for us when we were picked up.

Our guide, Wily, was very friendly and competent in leading us up Cotopaxi. He told us he had been up Cotopaxi more than 400 times. He showed us everything we needed to know and matched his instruction to our level of (in)experience. He knew when we needed to turn back for safety and we were grateful for his experience.

Although we were unable to summit Cotopaxi this trip, we would definitely recommend Wily and Ecuador Eco Adventure, and would use them again for future attempts.

I had a great experience with Ecuador Eco Adventures! My partner and I planned a trip to summit and ski Cayambe, Cotopaxi, and Chimborazo.

I’ve always wanted to ski the equator, and Cayambe is the only place to do it. It was a beautiful summit and we had surprisingly good corn snow for the long (800M+) ski descent. It was genuinely good skiing and we had a ton of fun!

We got unlucky with the weather on Cotopaxi and had to turn back before even reaching the glacier. That’s how it goes sometimes.

We had another amazing experience on Chimborazo. The climb was very cool, with a challenging/fun approach and a beautiful glacier. The summit was unreal and we had decent snow for the ski. It was very special to ski at 6,000M, and there were good turns to be had.

It was a lot of work to ski the peaks. The approach/climb isn’t very long on any of them, but nothing is easy at that elevation. There is definitely better skiing to be found in the world for less time, effort, and money. The turns are never worth it if you don’t enjoy the climb! Don’t expect fresh pow! Ski Mountaineering isn’t for everyone, but if it’s your thing, then I’d highly recommend skiing the equator.

I’d also highly recommend Ecuador Eco Adventures. I’ve never done a guided trip like this before and neither had my partner. But, this was great. We didn’t have a ton of time on the trip, so it was huge to have the logistics taken care of for us, and at a price we could afford. It’s a very good price for what you get.

Thanks again, Wlady and Christian!!!

I’m always down to share/trade information on off-the-beaten-path skiing (or fishing) spots. Hit me up if you want more info. kurt_spiegel@hotmail.com

Where do I even begin....We went on a 12 day trip that included climbing Cayambe, Cotopaxi and Chimborazo!

One of the best trips I had with my family and friends. Wlady runs a very organized and efficient team. He has some of the best guides who took care of us in the mountains, keeping us safe during the climb and the return. And Wlady took care of all the little things, from our dietary requirements and preferences to the last minute requests for extra gloves. Wlady also had good contingency planning in place when things didn't go according to plan.

This company gets 99.999 out of 100 from me. They could get a 100 when they start managing the unpredictable Ecuadorian weather. :)

Kidding aside, I would highly recommend Ecuador Eco Adventure

From the start Wlady was very helpful in planning our trip and accommodations. We had a great guide named Paul on both mountains who led us to successful summits. Overall this was an amazing experience and I would 100% use Wlady to help me plan my next Ecuadorian adventure!
