As others have mentioned, there isn't a lot for "tourist" sites in Guayaquil, but the Mercado Artesanal has a wide variety of local crafts at a reasonable, negotiable price. Definitely worth checking out for souvenirs to take home.

Everything that could possibly called "craft" is here, with stuff from all over Ecuador. Be careful if you are looking for locally produced gifts to take home though as there are also things made in Colombia, Peru and Central America (probably China too) Good place...More
