Amazing Mario is what the company should be called. He got us set up for two days of excursions only to have them both canceled by the pandemic and an order to leave Ecuadaor in 24 hours. Not only did he honor his word and get us a refund (unlike Oro Verde Hotel in Guayaquil who said they would and to-date has not) he offered to come to the airprot and be our intepretuer and help us get home. If the airport had not been locked down to anyone without a ticket we would have taken him up on the offer.
When we head back to Ecuador, and we hope to, he will be the first person we call. All the reviews ar true! he is the Amazing Mario!

Mario helped us a lot in finding a suitable cruise for us during our extended world trip, providing alternatives for all kinds of cruises (there are a lot of different routes!) Besides that, he gave some good options for diving which we booked via him. These diving option prices were lower than local prices we scanned later on the island. Even though not necessary in our opinion before arriving in Ecuador, we were very happy that Mario guided us very efficiently through the airport in Guayaquil. There are quite some extra labels/fees/documents that are needed to be processed to go to the Galápagos islands and Mario knows it all.

Via “Mytriptoecuador.ec" we booked a walking tour through the city of Guayaquil. We had a great guide:Tony Escobar. He speaks excellent English and knows so much about the culture, the history and all of the things that are worth while in Guayaquil to visit and see. He could even tell many things about the flowers and trees we saw during tge walk. Tony really opened our eyes for the beauty of Guayaquil. It is a beautiful city, with many nice buildings and monuments; both historical and modern. A highlight was the visit to Iguana park in the centre of the city, where many iguana’s run around free. In the park an Ecuadorean bigband was playing at the time. I can really recommend a walking tour in Guayaquil and especially Tony Escobar as a guide!

Mario is the best tour guide you could ever ask for in Ecuador! He took care of the students on the internship program I was on for two unanticipated weeks during the road blocks in June (and later in the summer as well). We did so many of his activities while we were stalled in Guayaquil including the cacao farm tour, a cooking class, a city tour, and many many others. They were all a blast and he taught us so much about all of the different places we went to. And the food was absolutely delicious! Mario really set the tone for the entire summer and he elevated the experience of the entire 8 week program even when he was not there. In addition to the tours he led, he provided me with so many good recommendations for other cities and connected us with other incredible guides. He became a good friend and I can't thank him enough for all the experiences he provided us with and will never forget them. Until next time!

I reached out to Mario in hopes that I would be able to have a driver and guide arranged for a day in Isla Trinitaria, a neighborhood of Guayaquil that should not be visited alone. Despite this, I wanted to experience its unique culture and history. Mario arranged everything and made sure it was an experience of a lifetime. Within minutes of him picking me up at the hotel, it felt like I was with a friend rather than a guide. He was patient, knowledgable, social, and friendly which amplified the experience and allowed me to meet the authenticity of the neighborhood we visited. In fact, he is so passionate and kind that he offered to show me around his part of the city the following day to see the contrast that exists in the city, another amazing experience. Till this day, I still keep in touch with Mario. No matter what you want to do in Ecuador, he will make your trip so much more immersive and authentic - an experience you will never forget. Thanks Mario!

I can not pick a favorite experience the whole trip was absolutely amazing. We were a dental group of 20+ donating our time and services to treat the indigenous children in the mountains of Riobamba. Mario handled us all like a pro, he is THE BEST tour guide ever! Knowledgable and informative on everything we asked him. He helped us translate during clinic hours and showed us everything he could and gave us an amazing personal experience during our free time. He went above and beyond to make sure our time was there was memorable. I would highly recommend using his service for anything you can! I personally can not wait to have more adventures with him in the future!

Mario showed me his city in 5 hours, by car and walking. Great knowledge of Ecuador, history, economy, art, scenery. Good fun facts and anecdotes, he selected a great route that covered just about everything worth seeing in that short time. An enjoyable and educational experience I can highly recommend!

From the moment we arrived (in the middle of the night), Mario took great care of us and ensured we had everything we needed. The accommodations and transportation were great throughout the trip! Being my first time in Ecuador, one of my main concerns was the food. Mario made sure all the food restrictions in our group were accommodated and I really enjoyed every single meal. All the activities he had planned for us, including a few surprises, were amazing and definitely unforgettable. Having Mario as our tour guide elevated our experience and made us feel at home. I cannot wait to go back to keep exploring such a wonderful country!

We had such a great trip to the Galapagos. Everything was seamless and arranged so we could focus on enjoying the islands and the wildlife. Mario was very flexible with our schedule to be able to arrange tours that would work for us. I would recommend this company for any of my friends going to the Galapagos.

I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Mario is top! He knows everything about his business and he does more than he needs to do.
He took us to the cemetery in Guayaquil, which was not on our tour, he took us to the mall to find something, all not part of the tour.
Very highly recommended as a guide and human being!
He took us to a restaurant on the dolphin watching tour, and I had the best schrompelt Cheviche ever ( he can give you the details, my memory is not that good, lol).
Mario is top! He knows everything about his business and he does more than he needs to do.

My suggestion for this option will be to book the Cocoa Trail and Citytour. We leave 10am from your hotel to the farm, we walk through the Cocoa plantation and explain everything about the fruit since it's seed until it becomes chocolate and make chocolate from the scratch. We have lunch at the farm and then come back to the city for a short Citytour.

That's a loaded question because it really is an individual decision. We flew and went to Puerto Ayora for three nights. We were able to scuba dive and visit the many sites on that island. We did not get to any other island but felt that this was ample time here. Have fun on your trip! We cannot wait to go back.

We'd like to do another tour besides the City Tour. We're debating between the El Morro and Churute tours. Which would you recommend? How is the value?

I recommend you The Fisherman Trail in El Morro town. We visit the town, a very old bakery, and take a boat trough the mangroves to watch different birds and go to the Frigate Island. (an island full of frigates). We can make a stop on the beach on the way back if you desire. Price is $95 per person if there is only 2 people. This price does not include the lunch, we go to a local seafood unexpensive restaurant of the town, very good food.
