It is definitely a nice cathedral and a good destination to see while in Guayaquil. Expect to see a lot of beggars around the building. There was a closed public bathroom just outside the church and people were using the surrounding areas as bathroom. Not...More

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Guayaquil is one of the city’s major attractions to visit. The cathedral is centrally located and almost annexed to the hotel where we stayed across from the Iguana Parque. According to our guide, the original cathedral was constructed from wood but...More

This church is beautiful inside and out. Just next to Iguana park. Some lovely stained glass which backed right onto the pool of our hotel!

Its right by Iguana Park so its well worth walking through. Nice exterior which does reflect Notre Dame somewhat. There is no charge to enter, its open and airy with beautiful workmanship.

We like visiting cathedrals in other areas when we travel. This one took 15 years to build and the workmanship is amazing. Beautiful stained glass and sculptures.

A beautiful towering Cathedral. It is fairly modern. Walk through the front doors and experience the lofty grandeur of the interior. We visited when mass was being held. Did not want to take pictures during mass. It does have some beautiful stained glass windows and...More
