I had an unforgettable experience at Cuyabeno Dolphin Lodge, and I can’t recommend it enough! From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations.
First and foremost, my guide, Ellias, was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and truly made the trip special. His passion for the rainforest and its wildlife was evident in every part of the tour, and he went out of his way to ensure we had an authentic and memorable experience. Whether it was spotting wildlife or explaining the ecology of the region, Ellias was always patient, engaging, and kind.
Anthony, who helped me book my trip, was equally fantastic. From the moment I reached out, he was quick to respond to my messages on WhatsApp, answering all of my questions and providing helpful details. His prompt communication made the booking process seamless and stress-free, and it gave me peace of mind knowing I was in good hands.
The lodge itself was charming and comfortable, with a great atmosphere to unwind after a day of exploration. I left with incredible memories, and the warmth and hospitality of the staff made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for an authentic Amazon experience with wonderful people, Cuyabeno Dolphin Lodge is definitely the place to be!

I spent five days at Dolphin Lodge and it was a wonderful experience! Rooms are cozy and cleaned every day, there is hot water for showering and there is always tea, coffee and cocoa available. The three meals are delicious and rich. But the best part were our guides, Esmeralda and Alexa, who made the trip unforgettable💚 The two took perfect care of us and clarified every concern directly. They have taught us so much about the jungle, the animals and plants and the native population! Above all, they have taken a lot of time to find a wide variety of animals so that we can observe them. 100% recommendation!

We stayed in Dolphin Lodge for 4 nights during our Cuyabeno visit in 12/2024. Total immersion in this well preserved Amazon rainforest, unforgettable experience.
The lodge is well kept, apart from that there was no hot water in half of the building including our room. The other half of the building had hot water in shower but due to the malfunctioning shower mixers, the water was often too hot, so those guests ended up having cold shower too.
The water for wash purpose is all coming from the Cuyabeno river, including showers, basins and toilets so it is light brown in colour. This is the same across all lodges in Cuyabeno. However, the drinking water is of unlimited supply, from those 20L commercial standard water barrels.
The food is very good, all 3 meals are supplied, well balanced, with no repeat in menu. Fresh juice and fruits everyday.
The activities are well arranged and spaced so you are not bored, but has ample time to relax too. The more days you stay, the more you get to see and explore. Here I won't elaborate on how many animals we saw on this tour-we are satisfied and amazed.
The guide stays onsite and looks after you for all your needs during your whole stay, also acts as your interpreter if you don't speak Spanish.
We were fortunate to have Elias as our guide. Elias is 28 yo, from the local tribe/community of Siona.
He never had opportunity to go to uni, or learn English formally. But with determination and diligence, he learned it all by himself to a level that's both conversational in daily life and educational in his field.
The familiarity of the forest, the wealth of his knowledge, and the superb agility made him an excellent guide. To him, there is life everywhere in the forest, in every corner he looked, or under every leaf he turned. With a gentle, calm and patient demeanor, here is your perfect guide.

A beautiful place, the food is exquisite with varied options, comfortable and spacious rooms, the staff are attentive and warm, as are the guides. Victor the guide, was spectacular with which we managed to see a great variety of species such as otters, alligators, monkeys, dolphins, birds, boas, etc. Definitely an experience I recommend💚

It was an amazing experience. I stayed for 5 days and was able to see so many wild animals, learn about the culture and life of a local community and just experience the jungle. Thanks a lot to Alexa, who was the guide in our group and truly did an amazing job by spotting a lot of wild animals and teaching us so much about the plants and the forest. I Can highly recommend this lodge!

I visited Cuyobeno Dolphin Lodge on a 4 day/3 night excursion and would highly recommend this tour package to anyone considering. The lodge is positioned in a peaceful part of Cuyobeno National Reserve and the variety of activities on offer made for an incredible experience. Our guide Victor's passion for what he does and the nature of the rainforest meant that my trip exceeded expectations.
I could not speak higher of the experience and would do this again in a heartbeat.

We had an amazing time! Did the 5 days jungle tour and loved every minute of it! Especially our guide Miguel made this trip extraordinary - he is so passionate about his job and the rainforest - truly beautiful to witness. Also the food, service and the staff at the Dolphin Lodge were great.

We had a wonderful time at the Cuyabeno Dolphin Lodge. We saw so many animals like pink dolphins every morning right in front of the lodge. Harpy eagles, toucans, hoatzins, many monkeys, caymans, tarantulas, bull frogs, king fishers, macaws, boas, etc. Our guide Victor was amazing. Victor has a passion for sharing his love for his land. He wants every visitor to get in love with the surrounding nature and culture. He will stop the boat as many times as an animal would show, explain it in detail, and answer all questions. His ability to spot animals is unbelievable. We wish every tourist guide was a "Victor".
Food was delicious, varied, fresh, and plentiful. Marta, her son (the cook), and her team run a very good operation.
We highly recommend this place.

An amazing experience for the price, overall a very good value. Our local native guide Alexa spoke fairly good English and made every effort to ensure we had a wonderful experience. The food was decent but the accommodation rather rustic and lots of room for improvement (i.e.: put a filter on the muddy river water used for showering and sink use, more than 2 hangars in the closet and some hooks to hang things up, maybe a chair and bedside table, etc.)

The 5 days in the jungle we really enjoyed. The activities offered are varied and fill the day more than enough. In our free time we slept in the hammocks or used a stand-up paddleboard.
Our guides Jorge and Alexandra were really excellent, introduced us to the diverse wildlife and gave us lots of interesting information about plants and life in the communities.
The food was also very good, even for veggies, and abundant. The only criticism: when we arrived we got little to no information about the process, meal times, activities, etc., but that too quickly became clear.

Hello, I was wondering what is the best choice for lodge at the Reserve?
Also you said you took a bus? Is the bus from the starting point and then back to Quito?
How long is the bus ride? Also is it possible to fly? Thankyou for your help or any tips.
We are going to be there in November
