There is so much to see in Trogir that it is easy to overlook some of the less well known sights. All I can say is that the convent's collection is breathtaking, preserved in a beautiful air conditioned building and well worth 30 Kuna. Go see.
As an added bonus the nun on the door was charming and very kind to the children.

The Benedictine Convent of St. Nicholas is near the south gate to Trogir, just within the walls. Run by nuns, it has a church, courtyard and museum. The site dates to the earliest settlement by the Greeks. A 2nd century BC Greek inscription has been incorporated into the southern wall of the courtyard, mentioning the city magistrates. The convent museum contains the famed Kairos, the god of opportunity (the youngest son of Zeus) The relief is 4th or 3rd century BC, carved from orange marble, a copy of a 4th century BC bronze by Lysippos, the court sculptor of Alexander the Great. Another Greek relief describes Achilles listening of Prim`s plea for the body of Hector (3rd century), uncovered during archaeological excavations in the church. Among the pictures in the museum is an icon of Madonna and Child (second half of the 13th century) and works of Paolo Veneziano, Blaz Jurjev, Antonio Zanchi, Nicollo Grassi are noteworthy. The museum also contains liturgical objects, vestments and vessels. The convent was founded in 1066. The current St. Nicholas church replaced the pre-Romanesque church of St Domnius, with Baroque renovation in the mid -18th century (interesting Baroque stuccowork and altars). The bell tower was added in 1598. The church and museum are open 10am-1pm & 4.15-5.45pm Jun-Sep, and by appointment other times, with an entry fee of 10 kuna (children half price). There is a three-fold pamphlet to guide you.

Original Greek relief from 3rd century BC when Trogir was a under Greek rule, is exhibited here. Romanesque, baroque and gothic architecture all under one roof! Religious paintings, icons, statues from as far back as the 13th century. A great find!

Most visitors stop at the outside courtyard - beautiful in itself - and miss a collection of wonderful artworks including a carved Kairos, the God of the Fleeting Moment. Go in! It doesn't cost much and it's worth it!

The Benedictine church and monastery of St. Nicholas is very old and it's full of history. It's run by kind nuns. This place has played an important role not only spiritual but also a cultural one, since it has preserved numerous works of art and books, especially the famous Kairos collection. A treasure indeed. This place is very easy to find. The church of St Nicholas and the Kairos collection are open to the public. The museum is small but nice. Great for history lovers. Overall, a lovely place. Definitely, worth a visit.

This charming convent, with an admission fee, contains a small museum for which there is a free guide in the form of a three-fold pamphlet. The treasure is a relief depicting the personification of Opportunity, Kairos in Greek, described in an ancient Greek poem. This is the only known copy anywhere in the world of this work of art, the original, now lost, having been created in bronze in the 4th century by Lysippos, the court sculptor of Alexander the Great.
