The museum is a very nice one. Ground floor shows the history development from the prehistoric time to the 20th century, and the upper floor has some nice exhibits from samobor generally (also from Stari grad) and from this house specifically. There is a nice model Of the samobor castle (stari grad) so if you just came down from the castle it’s nice to see how it looked like in the 18th century. If you ask the person over there he can open you another house outside where you can see an old Croatian village house. Unfortunately not everything is written in English. Good solution for spending an hour in samobor. …

If you want to find out something more about Samobor, this is a cool place to start. Also, it has that "historical" vibe, you can almost feel like you traveled back in time.

If you are interested in the history of Samobor this is the perfect museum for you. They have some nice exhibitions and the explanations are also in english. The most interesting thing is the house next to the museum that shows how people lived in the past.

What a great little museum! The staff were amazingly helpful - one showed us round a separate building which had been turned into a peasants' home, full of costumes and all the furniture of a flax farm. Looms, bed, kitchen, all explained. The other building had some delightful artifacts. Well worth a visit…

This museum holds a medieval battle fair every year in march. They set up military camp with fortifications, medieval kitchen, swordsmen, archers... Armored knights walk alloround. You can also see battle machines such as catapults, cannons, ballista and fire balls. Beside the museum and this fair I just love this small town near Zagreb.
