About
Golden Cape (Zlatni rt/Punta corrente), Kurent Bay and Montauro Cape are located around 1.5 km away from the town-center, south of the ACI Marina and Lone Bay.The coast is mostly rocky. There are a few beaches covered with small round stones, and Kurent Bay, the most visited beach in this area, covered with gravel. Kurent Cape is on the eastern side (see map). The beaches are rocky and the access to the sea is not easy. At Kurent Cape you will also find a pier where you can temporarily tie your boat and there is also a small gravel-covered bay.

Beautiful, serene
Sep 2021 • Family
This is an absolutely beautiful park next to Rovinj.. you can walk in densely forrested areas or by the beach, it is incredibly relaxing. Go early if you want to avoid the crowds, but even so everyone is very respectful of one another. Absolutely beautiful, so lovely that they have preserved this area and not let it be overbuilt like in so many other countries!

Huge green park
Aug 2021
Right next to the city of Rovinj you can find the beautiful green park which attracts lots of bicycle and people who want to enjoy the water.
Parking can be problematic in the vicinity. There are several paid parking areas but the demand is much higher. We walked a while through the beautiful green and well maintained park before we search for a spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful water. The entrance of the park is free. At the entrance you can also rent bikes. There is a lot if shade from the trees and because the park is so large you don't have the feeling it is crowded. From the water we had a nice view on the boats and the city. The water is lovely and a good spot for snorken especially of you walk further than the beginning part of the park. In the beginning part are beaches and the hotels, of you go further there are also more rocks. There was a small bar not far from were we stayed but unfortunately you could not eat warm there.
If you want to escape the city to enjoy the water, relax or make a walk in a park, this is the place to be in Rovinj.

Overcrowded
Jul 2021
Not bad but overcrowded when we were there. Expectations too high I guess.
The sea water was pretty cold and to get into the sea you *really* need water shoes (sharp rocks).

Amazing nature and landscape!
Apr 2021 • Couples
This is amazing place where green and blue Istria are one melting point!
Sunbathing and swimming in summer, walking and hiking, relaxing, enjoying...ride a bicycle or just to have a fresh breath of clean nature and nice views of sea - you get it all there!
Fell in love and addiction from first time, and now it is impossible for me not to visit Punta Corrente when I'm in Rovinj.
Great place to be, absolute harmony!

A lovely place for a cool walk by the sea under the trees
Aug 2020
We parked, for a fee, nearby and simply followed our noses down the trail at what we assumed was the beginning of the Punta Corrente park. Our main intention was to give both ourselves and our dog a long walk in the woods by the sea. This we achieved.

Actually we enjoyed a very pleasant walk, partly under the shade of the trees along the sea with nice views over to Rovinj. Most of the walk was on a white shingle/dusty path. The only slightly annoying thing was the multitude of bicycles rushing past - many of the cyclists seemed to have disregard for other users of the path and few knew how to use their bells...

On the path there are numerous places to have a picnic or hobble nervously over the rocks and pebbles to enter the crystal clear, blue water of the Adriatic.

Further along the trail you come to a little bay where many previous visitors had created their own cairns from the rocks on the beach. We quickly built our own cairn of 10 stones high. Will it be there if we come back next year?

All in all, a lovely place to get some exercise by the sea, under the trees which helped to cool us even though temperatures in the sun were generally well over 30°C.

Idyllic walking and swimming area
Sep 2019 • Couples
We came here a couple of times during our stay in Rovinj and we loved each experience. The waters are crystal clear and perfect for swimming in, although you will share the water with the jellyfish! The walks along the coast and through the park are immaculate and provide beautiful scenery. It is popular with cyclists and there are small playgrounds for children.
Very serene and peaceful.

Lovely forest by the sea
Jul 2019
Idyllic forest with cycling paths, coves, laid-back beach bars and quiet spaces - all right by the coast. Love the beach where you can leave your own little stone cairn and try to remember which one it was on your next visit!

Gorgeous place to visit
Aug 2019
Punta Corrente is lovely park area with plenty of beaches, extremely well preserved and maintained. There are a couple of bars where you can have a drink or snack in the shade before diving to the big amazing Adriatic blue. We would definitively return next time with our bikes as it's immense area waiting to be explored in every single detail.

Perfect sunset and chilled out bar
Aug 2019 • Couples
Lovely beach. Highly recommend the massage on the beach guy near who operates near a white storage box in front of Punta Cabana beach bar. This bar has hammocks and a cool vibe with great music. Relax here with a beer and soak up the ambiance before strolling a few paces to the beach to watch the most spectacular sunset.
