In fact - nothing to complain. Good organisation, quick responding to emails, well communicating in English. The centre is not cheap, but prices are on the market level, I think. I was unlucky to be at the beginning of the season and have no buddy to dive with and had to pay extra 15 EUR for a guide - Marco - who was really ok, and it was nice diving with him. Overall - diving trip to Baron Gautsch (which is worth to see for sure) with one dive, 30 minutes drove there and back, with a comfortable diving boat, lead and air tank (rest of the equipment was my own) was 70 EUR altogether. Overall - I can recommend this diving centre, in particular if you are larger group for a couple of days - the team is then flexible and arrange the dives you want. Otherwise - as it was in my case - you need to adjust - so I was only diving once with them, as on other days they were still diving on Baron Gautsch...

I spent considerable amount of time searching for a good dive center in Rovinj and I ultimately decided to dive with Scuba Valdaliso based on stellar reviews on Tripadvisor. However, I was ultimately quite disappointed with their mediocre service. Yes, they provided the tank and the weights, and they took us from their center to one of the wrecks without major hiccups, but this was it…just a taxi service. After dragging all the equipment from the center to the boat without any help, no safety briefing was given and only minimal information was provided about the trip ahead. The boat was quite slow and they had just a captain on the boat, without a divemaster going in the water (apparently, they provide a divemaster only upon request). We got a fairly limited briefing about the dive site…essentially, get in, get to the anchor line, drop down, swim around and go back to the anchor line. The dive itself was also quite unimpressive – visibility was very poor, partly due to the time of year, but largely due to very large number of divers at the site – while we were getting ready for the dive, additional dive boats arrived as well and they just tie their boats to the boat already there, without any concerns about the number of boats at the site or any coordination or attempt to control the number of divers on the wreck at any given time. Once the dive was over (and remember, most of the dive trips here consist of only one dive), the captain/trip leader provided absolutely no help…including, no customary assistance with taking the fins from the diver trying to get back on the boat in full gear, no help with positioning the tank on the bench, and certainly no provision of bottled water or any other even a smallest perk. The captain actually looked completely disengaged and uninterested, focused only on getting us back to the base ASAP. Once back, again no help with the equipment and no cheerful greetings or friendly exchanges about the dive. They seemed to be very stingy with the water as well– no camera tank on the boat, and back in the base, for some unclear reason, they did not have a handle on the faucet in the washing basin, so I did not even wash my gear there. I have hundreds of dives under my belt in all kinds of environments, and I have to say, this was a very disappointing experience. Please look elsewhere if you are looking for anything else but a basic transportation service to and from the dive site, or anything even remotely similar to the diving operators in the Unites States.
