You are walking on the wooden planks when you see Grandinsko. If you are a photographer there are some really nice shots here.

One of the most stunning lakes in Plitvice. This is a must see if you are in the park. Try and find a nice place just to observe on your own.

If you're entering at Gate 2--and taking the short ferry across to the Upper Lakes area--this will be your second lake. Just as pretty and clear as the rest in the park, though the boardwalk can get a bit congested here depending on what time you go (midday and afternoon).

You still have eyes popping when you encounter Gradinsko, it is a superb area with what becomes a series of sighs as you continue. But this lake sticks in your memory & hopefully the photos equally impress your friends.
I believe it is one of the very few (only?) lakes where the limestone/travertine rock of its floor, is visible with a whitish sheen. Most of the Plitvice Lakes have a Sedra or tufa deposit on their bottom. Regardless the waters are truly aquamarine blue.

Great end to the hike from the lower Falls. There were a restaurant, gift shop (not open in off season), and nice restrooms. It was enjoyable to catch the open air boat back. The water is so clear and beautiful. If you have time, it is a great addition to seeing the Falls.

YOu can see right down to the bottom, the lake is formed in a limestone caldera, the limestone coats all the things in the water, it is eerie. You will notice the colors are amazing and change based on perspective; make sure to hike up and look down from above as well. No bathing allowed in the lake. Limited bathrooms, water, food available; pack accordingly. It can be very hot in summer and limited shade. Trails can be tough, they are mostly not paved.

I really recommend that you skip the boats and walk around the lakes, as well as avoid all queues and waiting times and there are much less people. You also get a completely different experience.

This is just one of many beautiful lakes in the park. This is not as busy as the lower lakes, so it's a good spot to go and take pictures.
