This area of the lakes is the one in postcards- where you can see the stunning turquoise lakes with the boardwalk meandering through it. It is really beautiful, and, as we went in late October, it wasn't too busy either.

I have never witnessed such beauty in my life up until now. So many waterfalls, the water is indeed turquoise because of the white rocks and when it is cloudy it turns into a lovely grey turquoise colour. You can definitely not describe the beauty of that place. However, beware of the crowds. We went in September and the crowds... More

We visited Plitvice Lakes on a day tour from Split with Portal Tours. Our tour guide was Mario and driver was Tiho and they were just great After hiking through the Upper Lakes, we took the shuttle down and hiked the Lower Lakes. We hiked down to lake level at Milanovački Slap, where the water dropped into Milanovac Lake. The... More

Unexpected snowfall in November makes the scenary more magnificent. Glad we hike the wooden path. Need to check it out in the summer again.

The walk along the lower lakes, on a path and a boardwalk, is quite easy and enjoyable. This chain of lakes is interrupted by a series of waterfalls and the overall effect is unique. At the end of the walk you can catch a small boat that takes you across a lake to the number 2 parking area and various... More
