The Krka National Park is well worth a visit and it is an enjoyable walk through the woods on wooden pathways. The waterfall itself is the highlight but some trips advertise a beach nearby which does not exist. There are grassy areas where you can sit and reasonably priced snacks and drinks available. It is worth going in the water but swimming is difficult as there are a lot of slippery rocks to negotiate so care is needed and you would have to be a good swimmer to get as far as the waterfall. All in all though a good day out and if you are staying in Split it is just over an hour's drive.

Please avoid this place unless your preference is for surly staff,no or conflicting information
Having limited mobility at the moment the information online was sparse. Even for a fully mobile visitor there is an expectation that you can walk a mile or two.
It was expensive overcrowded and unfriendly.
There is a supposed flat walk way, hubby went further and said it was a sharp drop that even he struggled with.
An old mill is nothing special.
Maybe I am spoilt living with access to areas of North yorkshire but I could have done without this visit.
We had to pay extra for a shuttle bus ,if you not take it the wsljxwas more an arduous hike which people were ill prepared for

We arrived at 9 and would not liked to have been going latter in ghe day when it seemed like every visitor in Croatia.

Krka National Park I thought was way better than the overcrowded Plitvice Lakes National Park. The main waterfall attracts a lot of people to swim in it however the real gem in this park is to take the whole stroll around the pathway around the park.
Surprisingly well designed, this park has tons of small hidden overlooks and the park designers knew what they were doing. Tons of photo opps.
The amazing story of this park though is the Jaruga hydroelectric plant. Opened only 2 days after the world"s first power plant on Niagara Falls on Tesla's plans, the plant actually lighted up Sibenik sooner than Buffalo who had to wait a year later to see electricity for the first time.
And the rest is history.
For the beauty of main fall, the equally charming smaller waterfalls, the green lush vegetation, the sunlight that hits all angles and the industrial historical significance, it you have to choose, choose Krka over Plitvice hands down.

Just an overcrowded overpriced tourist trap… there were more random tourist trinket stalls and overpriced tourist food stalls than there was waterfall to see. The walking path was really boring and short— there wasn’t really any wildlife or interesting plants/flowers in the area. The most exciting thing of the day was seeing a cat. I can’t believe the entrance fee was 200 kuna. I saw on some older Google pictures that the waterfalls use to be a bit of a swimming hole but even that is not allowed now (but probably best to protect it better). The ferry ride to and from the waterfall was a pointless waste of time as it was just a float down the river crammed into a boat full of people, there was nothing really on the river to see, I saw 3 swans and that’s exciting as it gets.

Main attraction of Krka NP are, of course, waterfalls and travertines, with the signature waterfall Skradinski Buk. People go swimming there, but it was finally realised that the toll on the water ecosystems is too big, so this is apparently the last year tourists can get into the water. However, there are many more attractions in the Park: walking trails are lovely, there are interesting old mills with survived equipment, such as natural washing machines formed out of stone and small waterfalls. For the technically involved, there is one of the oldest (the oldest?) hydropower plant with an original tourbine in exposition. At Roški Slap there is a charming restaurant where you can sit almost amidst a waterfall. We also had a boat trip to Visovac island. And there many many more things – just do them! Including buying some fruits or other produce from local women – the commercial that wasn’t annoying at all. The figs I bought from them were fresh and yummy.

We were advised by the tourist office in Primosten to enter Krka National Park via the entrance close to the biggest waterfalls at Skradinski Buk.This was good advice,as we were able to take from there the bus(included with the entrance fee for Krka) to the waterfalls.To explore all the main sights and beauties of Krka would have meant starting at the entrance very early.However,the 5 hours we had in Krka allowed us firstly to take the boat-trip along the river to the isle and monastery of Visovac and then to take the walkways which allow the best viewpoints for the Skradinski Buk waterfalls.We were not disappointed with our visit and can well understand why Krka is one of the jewels of Croatian tourism,and I have now,after 28 visits to Croatia,seen so many sights here which truly uplift and inspire!Pleased that Krka was not overwhelmed with crowds,which somewhat marred our visit to Plitvice at a similar time of year 5 years ago.

If you have some spare days in Split and want to do something different from boat trips Krka is a great option. I used Gray Line Tours and the service was the transfer there with a guide after you have free time to explore... Amazing views.

It is a beautiful location and really nice to swim in the water. There are lockers to put your things in, and places to buy food and water. It is very crowded (much more than Plitvice in our experience), but still worth a visit. It takes a pretty decent walk to get to the waterfall as you must go through all the paths of the park in a one-way direction, walking behind slow tourists taking tons of photos. It is a beautiful walk, I would suggest proper shoes. You need to take an internal park bus to get down to the start of the paths. You can walk down, and depending on timing it could possibly be faster than sitting on the bus, as they must wait at the top for other buses to clear the way (one way road).

The Krka National Park is great too visit. You do have to be patient, although a lot of people visiting this place do directly to the swim/sun area. There is a large parking area, I think the parking was even free. When you enter the park, you can choose to walk a steep path all the way down or us the buses that drive around. The walk through the park is great, the walkway is well maintained and it brings you to the area where you can go swimming in the pool with view on the waterfalls. This feels like a bit of a festival area with food truck - not real food though to choose from. The park has a lot more to offer, some history, a watermill, Visovac ...

Beautiful nature about which beauties there is a lot written and photographed.

Is there anyone who has been to this Park who is handicapped and uses a scooter or wheelchair? I use an electric mobility scooter and would love to visit this Park! Are there any flat accessible trails? Would I be able to go on any boat excursions? I will be staying in Zadar and would love to find a tour that would take me or I could use our rental car and just drive there. Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hi, we took the boat there and walked back. The walk is on a well worn road and whilst not tarmac'd is certainly smooth enough to take a mobility scooter as long as you have reasonable sized pneumatic tyres. As for the ferry I'm not sure what disability measures there are for negotiating the gang planks but I'd be amazed if there weren't any at all. I think your biggest challenge would be accessing the water at the falls as from memory there was no easy way in for anyone, let alone a disabled access. It might be worth dropping them an email or plan on accessing the site via the track which is only a little way away from the centre of the village. Good luck

Nee. Man muss zahlen. Die Kroaten dort sind scharf auf's Geld, so wie der Teufel auf die arme Seele. Also besser aufpassen...
