So this is Zavala on Hvar a 20 minute drive from our villa. Others have written well about the tunnel and steep winding road into the village. After a few wrong turns, we were lured by signs to apartments etc. But eventually found our way to the port side. Not much parking but we got a spot behind Davor restaurant... More

We went there by car from Hvar town. Picturesque villages all the way. Beaches are rocky and be aware of sea urchins.

The road in is quite interesting. The first time I almost started to drive into the tunnel when another driver explained you wait for the light to turn. Sure enough, several vehicles came from the opposite direction about 10 minutes after we were waiting. The light went green and we drove through a very narrow but well built tunnel. We... More

Ridiculously, stupidly, stunningly, heartstoppingly amazing beach! The water is so clear and sparkly and blue! One of THE most stunning beaches I've ever been to! Highly, highly, highly recommend!

There are few people here and beautiful views - it has a fishing village vibe to it. we got here by car but the road on the way here is very narrow and you have to go through a hair-raising handcrafted tunnel. but the views on the other side are stunning and worth the effort in my opinion

What a lovely spot this is! I was so glad we had chosen to stay here for 5 nights and not in one of the towns on Hvar which, though very attractive, don't have the lovely rural, peaceful feeling of a small settlement like this below the mountain slopes.Vineyards, a Konoba, a small shop, lots of villas with apartments, tiny... It was quite a hike down to the beach area but worth the time. May be hard for anyone with disabilities since it is steep terrain. Restaurant down on the beach served excellent food, water was so clear, an enjoyable experience.

I didn´t feel like getting to Hvar Town because i stayed at an extremely comfortable guesthouse (Villa Zaca), the beaches were beautiful and there was peace and good food. It´s a fantastic small town, with some restaurants, not as crowded or glamorous like the rest of the island.
