My family and I had a TERRIFYING experience at sea, on the way back from the Pakleni Islands to Hvar on a small wooden boat named 'Maun'. Firstly, there was a clear sign stating that the boat was only capable of having 30 people on it. However, the sailor blatantly ignored this and piled at least 50 people onto the boat in choppy conditions. The boat was tilted heavily to the right before we even left the port and the large waves made the boat audibly creak, it did not seem sea-worthy, and there were several instances when I genuinely thought that the boat was going to capsize; at one point the right hand side could not have been more than three inches from the waves. I was sat at the back, as this was the only place left on the overcrowded boat, where there were no barriers and was completely open. My family and I truly feared for our lives several times on that journey, and other passengers were praying and looked extremely distressed. To top it all off, there was no safety information and no obvious life jackets or rafts on the boat, and the sailor spent all his time on his phone and did not do anything to try and steady the ship. All the owners of this boat are concerned about is profit and despite complaining to the harbour master, no apology or even a courtesy email has been received. I have truly never been more terrified in my life than I was on this boat and have suffered emotional damage because of it.

IT is possible to go to various Pakleni Islands by water taxi from the Harbor of Hvar for slightly less than €10 per person, €5 for kids. All the Islands have decent amenities, including Seat and parasol Rental and places to buy food and drinks. All the Islands are excellent for swimming with Very clear blues water. Note that Jerolim is An island that specifically welcomes nudism. The reason icrate this beach only 2 out of 5 is because the surrounding nature is rather bland in my opinion. There are various other beaches on Hvar itself that have all feautures mentioned above but with absolutely Incredible surrounding nature

A piece of land that God tried to lesve for himself.
You sit, drink and eat an you forget the time. And then when it comes to sunset you realize once more that life consists of small beautiful moments.
Perfect food, good staff and extremely pleasant and charming owners.
Do you need more !?

These islands are the best sailing destination in Croatia. There are many little coves to anchor or there are several bays with restaurant mooring balls. It is worth the extended stay with the boat and explore the island.

Nothing like the Adriatic for the ultimate plunge pool.
A bit of a current running so noodles & rope with float well used but didn't detract from such a magical experience.
The views all around when you do look up are stunning also.
... & the views down into the crystal clear waters highlight the channels & small reefs & some fish too.
On our return friends we told - in an all matter of facts manner - were soooooo jealous. A great memory.

We took the boat taxi from Hvar to Zdrilca. Needed to pay 50 kn for two way ticket. Starts 10am, ends 7pm. The sea is crowded bcs of yachts and boats. Sea is clean, the ambiance is nice. Sea shoe is a must.

We hired a fast boat for the day and visited the Blue Cave and then the islands after. We all wished we had spent more time exploring the islands than spending hours going to the Cave. The little bays are beautiful and make sure you visit Marmito’s for lunch

Stunning archipelago of islands which you can see from Hvar town. We visited Zdrilca/Milna beach, which was absolutely beautiful. Also visited Carpe Diem, but would recommend the first over the latter, though both well worth a trip

We travel a lot, but this vacation is one that is remembered as a total relax. We enjoyed the best food, drinks, services of all kinds from jet skis to canopies, massages ... the music is great. Staff very friendly and always available. Nature is magical, and the sea is sky blue and crystal clear. Excellent!

Took a boat out to the Pakleni Islands. Rented a chair and an umbrella at one of the little beach clubs and had a enjoyable day sitting in the sun and swimming. There was restaurant associated with the club and had a simple enjoyable lunch

Bonjour,
Aviez vous un permis bateau pour effectuer cette location ou cela peut il se faire sans?
A quel organisme vous êtes vous adressé?
Merci beaucoup

Hi. We are staying in hvar as a family of 4.
Could anyone recommend a private boat that could take us around the Pakleni islands I’ve heard thus is around 200 euros. Could you confirm prices.
Thanks in advance. Karen

You don’t need a private boat (with captain). Hire a boat and take yourselves - it’s really easy. We hired a boat for 650 KN (about 75 euros) from outside of the Amforna Hotel. Just make sure you book a boat with a ladder so that you can jump in the sea and re board easily!!!

Hi, considering renting a small motor boat to the Pakleni islands. We're not experienced in sailing or anything and wondering if once you anchor a rented boat and swim up to a town where you'd like to walk around. Is it safe to just leave your boat anchored anywhere or are there rules? do you have to pay? and is it safe security wise to just leave it for a while until you're ready to leave that place and move onto the next? Thanks in advance :)

Hello there! What is the name of the company, from where you can hire a small boat to cruise around by yourselve, without a license?
Best wishes!

I don’t think you need a licence to drive a small boat - we hired a 20hp boat and there are plenty stalls along Hvar’s main port area that do boat rental for a day. We walked away from the main area past Hula Hula beach bar and hired ours from a guy called Antonio. 900kn for a 20hp boat with steering wheel seems the average price.

Hello!! I am goping to Hvar with my friends next month.
One question, the boat you rented was coming with one skipper or you were driving it by yourself? Do you have license? And which is the name of the company you rented with? THANKS A LOT!
