We had such a fantastic walk/hike on the rocky trail from Palmizana to Vlaka hamlet. Palmizana is where all the water taxis dock. I wrote this directions because it is NOT obvious how to take the hiking trial to Vlaka. And if you only stayed in Palmizana then to be honest you would be missing out. It takes about an hour at a slow pace (I was walking slow as I didn’t want to trip over the rocks). I reckon about 40 mins at a normal pace.

First: walk down the path with the mermaid sign flanked by two red pillars. It looks like it is just the entrance to a restaurant but it’s not. On your right is a garden and it might have peahens in it:-)

Second: keep walking past a few properties which say “Private - no entrance” (it really feels like you are trespassing at this point but I promise you’re not!)

Third: once you get to the sign which points right to Vlaka and points left to “private property” then you’re all set - just take the path to the right and walk for 40 to 60 mins.

The trail is ROCKY and not suitable for people with mobility issues. Make sure you spray your legs with DEET (at least 25%) to keep the ticks off as this is a Lyme disease area and you definitely don’t want that. I would say wear long trousers but even in mid-September it was very hot. Just wear DEET and don’t go too deep into the long grass.

Eat at Konobo Dionis (near the end of the trail). It was amazing and they had THE BEST vegetarian option (aubergine pie)

It does not get much better than this (Palmižana is the sort of place wehre you really doubt whether some moments are after life experiences). Gorgeous in every sense, shape and form! Nature at its best

We travel a lot, but this vacation is one that is remembered as a total relax. We enjoyed the best food, drinks, services of all kinds from jet skis to canopies, massages ... the music is great. Staff very friendly and always available. Nature is magical, and the sea is sky blue and crystal clear. Excellent!

Stopping at beautiful beaches along the nany islands and seeing many biats enjoying them too. The kayak tour was incredible and our tour guide was wonderful. It takes a bit of work to di the 8 km in 4 hours but there was little wind that day.

Maybe an advantage of travelling during the pandemic. Peaceful and stunning without lot's of tourists. Highly recommend. We hired a private guide, sailed and explored the various islands. Relaxing and educational. Sunset was magical. Can get chilly so take a light throw. Either hire a private boat / guide or rent a boat for the day. Best way to explore from Hvar.

Take a taxi boat from Hvar and enjoy an entire day at Jerolin which offers a relaxed environment with crystal clear water. Next stop Carpe diem for food and drinks.

Best way to explore the islands is to rent a little boat on your own ,dont need licence or any major skills to do it and its so fun.We got our little boat from Rent a Boat Mate
Excellent service from the start to the finish.Price was right , better then other places we checked but thats not why we decided to go with them.Mate and his team were very friendly and honest we felt they really wanted us to feel safe and enjoy our time( what we did!)They got as well prepared for our own excursion of Pakleni islands with 15 min lesson of how to use the boat,docking...Boats were clean and fully equipped (cooler box , ladder).Great tips of which bays to visit to swim and relaxed to avoid crowds of people and boats ...Highly recommend.

We took the boat taxi from Hvar to Zdrilca. Needed to pay 50 kn for two way ticket. Starts 10am, ends 7pm. The sea is crowded bcs of yachts and boats. Sea is clean, the ambiance is nice. Sea shoe is a must.

We hired a fast boat for the day and visited the Blue Cave and then the islands after. We all wished we had spent more time exploring the islands than spending hours going to the Cave. The little bays are beautiful and make sure you visit Marmito’s for lunch
