This sea-shore resort town is a very nice stop-over for a couple of relaxed days. Old buildings, souvenir stores, great beach and very good restaurants. However, it is very crowded during the Summer.

We loved it here, nice, busy place with lovely bars along the seafront. Scenery is breathtaking, we took the boat a few times to Dubrovnik, lovely.

Cavtat is like hidden gem that is a must see when traveling on Jadran. It is very close to Dubrovnik, very quiet and nice place with great sunset and nice restaurants. We will never skip that city again :)

A pretty town with a harbour. NPlenty of bars and restaurants and you can climb the 161 steps to the mausoleum for some stunning views. Also try some of the ice cream. It is cheap and delicious.

Lots of hotels and guest houses. We stayed at the hotel cavtat which accommodates children. Our next trip is the hotel Remissen Albatross which is larger and has a big pool area.

I think Cruise ships visit every day.!! Best advice is go early. We took the boat from Cavtat, 100 kunas return, left at 9:15am. Takes 45 mins direct. Arriving at 10 am it's reasonably comfortable regarding crowds. By noon... More

What to see from Dubrovnik to Split? (5 Replies)
We'll spend 3 days in Hvar and 4 days in Dubrovnik (Old town, Cavtat, and Montenegro). We have 4 days left to do something before we head to Split for our flight out. We have a car. We can extend the time on Hvar if needed but think I don't think we will need to do that. Thinking Plitvice Lakes, but don't know what else. We don't want to spend the whole day on ferries........... 2nd week in September Thank you in advance-

Does 4 days include Split, or is that 4 days before Split?

Villa Sailor Apartments - Cavtat Old Town (15 Replies)
Has anyone stayed in these apartments? According to the info on TA, they are a new build. I can't find any formal reviews on TA or elsewhere, and would value other opinions before we book. Thinking of staying there summer 2012 (myself, husband and daughter who will be five by then). Also, can anyone who's stayed in the old town previously advise me whether we'd experience much night time noise in that area (ie passing 'revellers'). I'm concerned that my daughter may not be able to sleep if...More

Hi, We just got back 3 weeks ago from Cavtat. We stayed in the old town center. I am trying to figure out where this is. I dont recognize it, but wonder if it is right behind the monestery , since I see what looks like a chuch in front of it. If it is where I think it might be- it would be very quiet. We stayed right behind the Poseydon Restaurant , which is to one side of all the cafes and bars, and on the other side of the town center. Two nights we had to close our window and doors...More

A Few Questions - Beach, Cavtat & Old Town Restaurants (15 Replies)
Hi folks My husband and I will be arriving in Dubrovnik on 27th June & staying 4 nights. We are staying in a private apartment (Address: Don Frana Bulica 7) just outside of the city walls. We have been looking at things to do during the day and are interested in possibly spending a day at the beach and/or visiting Cavtat. With regards to the beach, what are the options here? Are there beaches with sunbeds & parasols nearby? Also, how would we get to Cavtat using the bus? ...More

Banje Beach is very close to the Old Town and they do have parasols for rent there. There are many nice beaches in Croatia, but this one might be my favorite just for the fact that the Old Town walls are in perfect view and all that history is staring back at me!
