This monastery is to the left of Bol town .We had hired a scooter and enjoyed our visit. We were greeted by a friendly lady who gave us a brief introduction to the museum and monastery and even offered to take our photo. There were interesting exhibits in the museum ( including g 14/16th century paintings , old coins , old mass books, pots etc). the monastery itself was also lavishly decorated.Unfortunately the gardens were closed.Entrance fee 30 kuna. there is also a nice beach bar and beach to the left of the monestery so a good option for a stroll from Bol town or bike/ scooter ride.

It makes for a nice walk before dinner to burn up some calories. Otherwise it is nice to see. The walk from the port over has a couple of seedy streets, so after dark might not be a good idea. The port town seems very safe.

Sunday mass times 0700, 1030. 0800 on working day.

Website doesn’t have this information as far as I could see so I thought it helpful to add.

We went to the monastary hoping to enter but when arriving we noticed it was not open to the public. Although we stayed around and after 5-10 min one of the three monks appeared through a locked door and with some charming from my Croatian girlfriend we were allowed to enter and look around and have some friends of the monk see us out when we were satisfied. We are both catholics, came well dressed and seemed eager :) They have a Beautiful garden inside and the view from it was miraculous. Although we were not allowed into the cathedral. That is only open during mass. Mass is open to public, come well dressed, at 10.30am sundays and 8am some or all of the weekdays. The monks we talked to were increadibly charming.

We decide to stay away from Zlatni Rat for the day and headed the other direction from town. Very short walk to this gem that was very quiet and a nice break from the crowd on the other side of town

We called into here on the way to Martinica bay and the monastery bells where clanging. The chapel was open so we took a quick look to find a service in progress. We where quite respectful and retreated. The chapel is lovely inside typical Croatian/Greek. There is an old Croatian graveyard nearby with stone carved skulls on the walls, a quick look in gives you an insight into how old the village is.

Beautiful small beach on the other side of the Bol, not as popular as Golden Horn. You can get there by car or walking along the shore. If you go by car there is a free parking area. The beach itself is not very big but cosy place for families or couples. There is small cafe restaurant on the beach where you can have lunch or refreshment.

We thought there was a museum but there was no sign of it. We stayed five minutes and had seen and read all the information on the outside of the buildings. Very disappointing.

Dominican Monastery is located in a beautiful position with views and has a bell tower. This still active church was founded in 1475 and was influential in the region. The alter has a Mother of God with Saints from the workshop of Jacob Tintoretto.
