We took our car on the morning ferry($55) from Split and drove 37 km over the island to Bol and down to this popular beach. It was quiet with free access in the off season especially with today’s light rain. We walked the overlook to view the nudist beach and the beautiful 400 m “Tongue of the Golden Gate” which from this distance could be delightful sand but in reality is made up of small pebbles.
Nice stone church from 1720 with cats in control and an odd bronze monument of a basket carrying donkey.

This beach is a real beauty, especially if you take a walk in the morning when it is empty. Prices are decent for what is offering (210 kuna for 2 beds and an umbrella) and you can also sit at the shade of trees. However, in this pandemic times, it was very crowded. People were putting their towels between the chairs, without any number limit existing there. We did not feel very safe. There are some options for bars but are mostly fully occupied so you can go and order something to eat or drink from carts nearby. Toilets and showers are not free and not really on the beach (you need to walk 5-10 minutes).

Been here last time in September 2016 and it was unique experience. We parked our car in the shade of main parking obove the beach, the price for all-day is 80 kuna, but for us Croats it's 50 kuna.
The beach itself is spectacular, you can feel that you are on special place. That day it was very, very windy and it was a heaven for kite-surfers.
Many tourists and my companion were on one side of the beach because on the other were big waves...
The sea was very cold (first days of June, yes, the climate is rapidly changing in Adriatic) and it was a challenge for me as a local...
From the mountain or from a drone you can easily think that beach is sandy, but it is everything but not sandy! Pebbles are across all the beach.
Instagrammable beach, you can take many nice photos.

Though I had not heard much about “The Golden Horn” I knew it was no sand, but rather pebbles. The clear water almost looks unreal and the mountains around makes it special. On very hot days bring a parasol! (The cost was around 20 dollar to rent a parasol and chair).

The beach is nice but there are much nicer beaches on Brac. We paid 20kuna for parking which seemed reasonable. But! It is extremely expensive for Sunbeds and parasols. Beach guy tried to charge us £60 for 4 beds and 2 parasols when we arrived at 4pm. We pointed out the time and he didn’t charge for parasols. But £10 per bed is still expensive. Food was ok. It is also expensive. There is charge for using toilets and showers, which seems unfair considering the cost of the sunbeds. All in all an ok place to busy but obviously highly touristy. Reminded us of a Croatian Marbella.

It is of unique shape, covered with pebbles, with close shadow of woods. You can choose to swim in wavy sea (on windy side) or absolute calm. After few steps depth is over head. Water is absolutely clean and limpid. Additionally, there is a show of tens of kite riders, completing the whole experience.

We saw it first from the Vidova Gora, from where it really looks nice. But it is actually nice in reality as well, not only from the above :) One side was windy, the other not. We were lucky as on the day we got there was quite cloudy so we didn't need a sun umbrella (not sure how much it costs but I don't expect it to be cheap). I've read that the first parking is around 90 kuna per day but if you keep on going toward to beach and do not park on the very first spot, then you reach parking that costs 30 kuna per day and is really close to the beach (2 minute walk) and even 20 kuna (though this seemed to be bit longer walk yet still somehow reasonable).

Beautiful beach and water. Would recommend going early to get a nice sunbed if interested. Nice for snorkeling if you go early before too many tourist taxi boats arrive. Good shade too in areas if you choose to not rent sunbeds (270 kuna for 2x and an umbrella)

Overrated, overcrowded and overpriced! Loud music and overflowing bins.

It has a pebble beach, as is the norm on croatian beaches. The water is no doubt very beautiful but I have seen far more spectacular waters and beaches in Croatia. I don't know what all the fuss was about.

The left side of the beach had very calm waters but the other side had such strong winds and rough waves that I thought it incredible to find people actually swimming in it.

We had a quick look around, took a few snaps then happily left.

Zlatni Rat is much better seen and appreciated from the peak on Vidova Gora. Certainly much quieter!

£26.25 for two beach beds and an umbrella and the alternative is lying on a shingle beach. This is supposed to be the most iconic beach in Croatia if so not impressed. The sea is clear but getting in and out you sink into shingle which can be a struggle. Won't be back.
