We had a great experience with the trip Lily organized with us. We visited, Lijiang, Shaxi, Shangrila and Tiger Leaping Gorge. We just told her what we wanted to see, how much hiking we wanted to do and at which level, and she organized the trip accordingly. We stayed in very nice and clean guesthouses, some of which were in traditional Tibetan and Naxi homes, where we also had the chance to try homecooked food.
We had an amazing and skilled driver, and for me it was really important because the mountain roads are quite dangerous and there were a lot of landslides on the road.
We wanted a guide for our tour, and we had two in total. I was really disappointed with the first one. He was not able to explain us almost anything about the history or the culture of the places we visited, and he was mostly just dealing with tickets and hotel check-in (thing that we could have done by ourselves). He would tell us that places that we wanted to visit were closed, and when we forced him to take us there it was actually open. In one city, Shaxi, he took us on a tour that he arranged too late, and all the main attractions were already closed. I was so angry that I decided to dismiss him for the rest of the afternoon and the evening.
On the opposite side, for the last day we had an amazing Naxi guide that told us a lot about the history and the culture of the Naxi people and of Lijiang area, and took us on a wonderful hike to a Yi village.
Overall, the organization of the trip was perfect, we didn’t have any issue with it, and when because of rain and landslide our itinerary was changed, the organizer was very quick to arrange another activity, even though I would have liked to have more options to choose from.
I absolutely recommend a trip organized with them. Not only we visited beautiful places, but we also learned a lot about ethnic minorities in Yunnan.
I am giving 4 stars just for the bad experience with the guide.

We contacted Lily through WeChat and she helped us organize a two day hiking trip through Tiger Leaping Gorge. We left from Lijiang and were taken to Shangri-la afterwards. The scenery was stunning. Lily was helpful and professional and we all loved our guide - Joey.
He was friendly and knowledgeable and completely adapted to our needs. He even made a video compilation of photos from our trip. They took care of our luggage and ensured that one member of our group who couldn't hike was fully taken care of. Cannot recommend highly enough!

Great experience. The best-organised hiking tour that I have done. Lily helped organise a bespoke itinerary for our group of four over five days. We visited Tiger Leaping Gorge, Yack Meadow, and villages in the surrounding area. The accommodation and food surpassed my expectations. Our tour guide, Mr Mu, was knowledgeable, caring and extremely pleasant. Also, our driver, Mr Ho, was fantastic, at all times I felt safe, comfortable and well looked after. I thoroughly recommend Lijiang Xintou Ecotourism.

After a very last minute decision me and my girlfriend decided to go to Lijiang. I messaged Lily and explained what we wanted to do and if foreigners were allowed into Lijiang at this time because of the pandemic.
Lily could not have been a better host, she checked with every tourist destination to see if foreigners were allowed in.
We stayed at her fabulous, cozy and traditional guesthouse for a very reasonable price. She provided a tasty breakfast every morning, ranging from western to traditional Naxi breakfast.
She also sat down with us and helped us plan out our itinerary for the week we stayed there. She rang all the tourist spots up, booked tickets for us and sorted transport and accommodation for our tiger leaping gorge trek.
The warmth and kindness Lily showed us, along with the beautiful scenery made this a trip I won’t forget!

We stayed with a family of five ( kids 8,5,3 ) in Lily’s guesthouse at the beginning and end of our 14 days Yunnan trip. The guesthouse is cosy, inviting, with a beautiful courtyard and spacious and clean rooms. We loved spending time in the yard and Lily’s kitchen. Our kids played with her son and there were heaps of nice toys. We had nice food with fresh cooked vegetables prepared by Lily’s husband and the breakfast was a good treat and a mix of western and Naxi food. Lily is very helpful and caring. We stayed a night with them before we headed back to Beijing and it felt like coming home. Our kids loved the place too.

I had a very good trip with Xintuo. I travelled with my family of 7, there were elderly folks and children. Before the trip I had tons of email correspondences with Lily. She was very patient and prompt in her replies. As I come from Singapore , a tropical country, she provided very good advice with regards to travelling to Lijiang in winter. I booked some accommodations through her and she made sure all the accommodations had heaters. She even requested for electric blankets for fear that the heaters might not be strong enough. Very thoughtful of her !
My favourite part was visiting and eating with the locals. A visit to the naxi family was a very good experience. Though the food was not really to our taste, we enjoyed the experience. Another memorable experience was the visit to the Tibetan family in shangrila. The taste of the ‘shuyou’ tea and the cheese was a little exotic for us but we liked the experience of sitting by the fire place together with the family. I never thought that I could ever experience that.
Our guide Magnolia 玉兰 was fantastic. She was very patient with my parents especially my father. As we were slow in walking, she adjusted her pace to accommodate us. She took vey good care of all of us. Overall it was a great trip and I would recommend Xintuo.

I had read several negative experiences and also had warnings from friends whom had engaged local tour operators in Lijiang, therefore I was cautious when looking for a local tour agent.
When i connected with Lily, I am impressed with her professionalism, patience and prompt replies to all my queries.
Lily was attentive to our specific rooming requests and a day before our arrival she quickly updated us on the weather conditions and the change in routes for our road trip to Lugu Lake due to some unforeseen roadworks.
Mr Zhang, our driver was an amiable, obliging and most importantly a safe and conscious driver. He was attentive to our needs especially when my friends were unwell and was flexible to change our itinerary accordingly. Furthermore, he noticed our food preferences and when we visited his Naxi residence, he requested his hospitable mother to prepare the meals according to our liking.
We (three female friends) went on a 6-days private tour (1-6 Nov) with Xintuo and it was an enjoyable and delightful trip except for our toilet experiences. Yes, limited flushing and mostly bucket system. I strongly recommend the nature, whenever possible. Umbrellas maybe really handy.
Our itinerary consists of Shuhe Old Town, Lugu Lake, Lijiang Old Town, Tiger Leaping Gorge, Lashi Lake inclusive of a home-cooked meal in a Naxi home. And visit to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Glacier, Blue Moon Valley and Lijiang Impression Show.
I would strongly discourage visiting Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Glacier, its too commercialise and we spent most of the time queuing for the bus and the cable car (and its lull season!) In addition, its especially infuriating when the local tourists jump the queue!
Other than the visit to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Glacier, the rest of the places in our itinerary were awesome despite the 8-9 hours one way road trip to Lugu Lake.
Lily and Mr Zhang delivered their service beyond our expectations and I will highly recommend Xintuo Ecotourism!

We want to thank Xintuo and especially our graet local guide- Magnolia for a wonderfull tour and a nice peek at the locals life .
We went on a three day hike to Wenhai and lashi Lakes and a bike tour around the lashi lake villeges .
We saw an importance in choosing an ecotour especially with how touristic and modern lijiang is becoming this days.
At the first day Magnolia picked us up from outr hostel in lijiang and after a 30 min' drive we were at the start of the trek .
We started with a 4 hours hike up to wenhai villege, where we had a great local lunch and a walk around the lake and many yaks. We came back to the hous for dinner and slept at a graet guesthouse (everything orgenized by Xintuo company)
The next day we woke up and hiked for two more hours to see the amazing view of lashi lake, then hiked down for about 3 or 4 more hours to the house we slept in the villege near the lake.
We chose to cook our dinner with our host -which was a great experiance.
Day after we finished with a nice bike tour around the villeges, the rose fields and the lake and visited at a beautiful tibetian buddhist temple.
We ate lunch in a nice local resturant -defentlly the best meal i had in china!
And then went back by car to our hotel in Lijiang.
Magnolia was amazing!
She was both lovely and funny and was also very informative. She knew a lot about nature, culture and history and could answer any question we asked.
There were so many things that we would not understand if she was not there. She kept us updated at all time, and even helped us find a new hostel in lijiang after we had a problem with finding it.
The food was great and the people we met were smiling at us and so welcoming.
I would defentlly recomend this tour to people who really wants to take a closer look in the villegers life and homes.
It was a meaningful and enjoying tour.
Thank you again , dear Magnolia and the hall Xintuo crew !

The countryside around Lijiang is pretty, fields, lakes, hills, and blue sky.
Good to get out of the city and away from the traffic.
There is so much traffic on road to Lashi lake, takes long time.
In villages, the local people want you ride horse with them.

Lily Zhang at Xintou helped us put together a 9 day tour of the Lijiang area, during the golden week in late January 2014, for us and our son and his wife. This is a friendly and professional tour company, catering to small groups interested in outdoor and cultural activities. Aside from providing safe transport, lodging, good explanations and background, we avoided the crowds and had an authentic introduction to the Lijiang area and Naxi culture. We visited the Tiger Leaping Gorge, Baoshan Stone Village, Lashi Lake, Shaxi Old Town, the Shibao mountain and Shilong Village. Xintou made our trip an enriching experience!
I am sure they could tailor trips for just about anyone.Lily speaks good English, Mandarin, and Naxi, and was a pleasant companion on our tour. On the parts of the tour she was not with us, she was always available on her cell phone to help with translations or coordinating our trip.
Fully recommended.

We are planning to visit March 2016 We understand it may be too late for the migratory birds at Lashihai - How long do these birds remain at the Lake Also do you recommend a Tour operator who can take care of our 7 day Yunnan tour (Kunming - Dali - Lijiang and optional Shangrila) exit and return to Beijing visiting mainly ecotourism sites. There will be two persons - dont mind 3 star accom with Western toilets preferably Thank you
