I'm presently enrolled in the language school. My chinese friends all told me to try out this area of China as they all think it is the most beautiful part of China.
To my pleasant surprise the shcool is very professionally run. It is located along two streasm with walking paths on each side that lead into the old town.
The areas looks like China should look like from the picture books we have seen as children. Beijing and Shang hai don't fit the bill. It is also an extremely clean city sourrounded by snow covered moutains. The best part is it neve goes below 12 centigrade nor above 30. There is no pollution. The closest place I know in the States to this is Aspen Colorado but Li Jiang doesn't get cold.
If you want to discover China at a reasonable cost come to Li jiang. The school is extremly reasonable. I found I'm studying and living for less than it costs me to live at home in Europe!! It is a win win situation.
