Just a boring theme park
Sep 2017 • Couples
There is really nothing interesting here. Not the fake dinosaurs, the fake lakes, the glass walkway, the adult sized slide that doesn't slide (despite the screams from the odd local tourist), etc. This place might be good for kids but not at the hundreds of yuan price tag that comes along with it.

Only went because our driver suggested it. Don't let a driver brow beat you into it!

Simple fun

We decided to visit this place because of some reviews and photos on wikitravel. Firstly, we were surprised at how separate the 'tourist' are was from the actual town. You have to buy a ticket to enter the area. This entitles you to visit everything but doesn't entitle you to a boat-ride or to cross the 'shaky' bridge near the waterfall (there is an old woman there who shakes you down if you want to cross it).

We really loved the scenery from down near the late. I recommend visiting all the lakes (there are 3) and especially the one with the tens of thousands of gold-fish. People will sell you fishfood to feed them. Have a laugh at the English translations, stroll around the lakes and make your way to the rollercoaster to the gorge where the waterfall is. It is a small waterfall and the location is average, but it was enjoyable. There is a small cave near the waterfall (careful the steps are slippery). Go inside to see people praying before you cross and walk back down the gorge.

Take the boat or the bamboo raft back across the river (don't forget to pay them 10 kuai) and you have pretty much seen it all.

Cool place, but I think there are better things to see in a day-trip there. We spent about 2 hours (plus 1 hour driving). Hire a driver from Northern Old Town in Lijiang and don't pay more than 60 kuai.

Great Fun! Nice Surprise!

Our local driver recommended this place on the way to the airport to kill some times. I was not expecting much and was very pleasantly surprised by how fun it was.

First you have to buy the ride/boat/entrance fee ticket. It entitled you to take a roller coaster ride around the canyon..... a very slow roller coaster but much more dangerous because all the seat belts are broken. Then you walk back via a very steep canyon, ending it with a hanging bridge. Then you take the boat across the lake to the exit. It is a fun Air-Land-Sea combo.

There is a traditional Naxi band playing in the courtyard. The lead singer spoke decent English with a lot of flair. My husband got to take picture with him wearing tradition hat and fur vest. Super fun.
