    Beautiful
It rained on & off for the few days we were here. Still it is a stunning UNESCO World heritage site. Having a drink & watching the sunset over the old town was lovely way to end a day of sightseeing on our feet

Great place - beautiful and fun
Fun place day and night that's superbly organised and set out. If you like taking pics you'll need lots of storage. Simply brilliant. The other reviews say it all.

    Independent trip
The town was very busy in the evening but wonderful to walk round in the morning. Lots of beautiful views and nice to have the streams running through town with lots of colourful flowers. Ate some great food.

2nd visit yet still very breathtaking & mesmerizing effect!
This is a really lovely ancient town. Must see for all visitors! If you can spare more time, it can take at least 3 to 4 hours. Many locals come here to take photos, Young ones will make the effort to dress up in their minority groups, having make up done & dressing up beautifully! A sight to behold when photos taken by professional photographers. Setting is breath taking...loving every aspect of this ancient town. There are many different shops, restaurants & local fare available, no worries of lack of food here!

Awesome charming old town of Lijiang
Be prepared to get lost in the maze of lanes. The old town is a charming quaint place. Lovely scenic instagramable places with every turn and corner. Better by day than at night. It takes the effort of a whole community to maintain this place.

    Beautiful Lijiang Ancient Town
I love Lijiang ancient town. It’s colorful, bustling, a lot to see and especially beautiful when it’s litted at night. Make sure you stay one night as 2-hours walk is not enough. I highly recommend Intercontinental Lijiang ancient town resort as its side door is the start of Lijiang old town South Gate. Very convenient. It’s quiet with modern facilities yet in an ancient Chinese architecture design that blends well with the surrounding ancient town. It has wide spread of breakfast too. If you are lucky, you will be able to see Jade Dragon Snow mountain on a clear day from the breakfast restaurant. At dusk, don’t forget to go next to Seven Colors Chinese restaurant to see the overall view of the ancient city from the top. It’s beautiful when all is litted.

There are some good Chinese restaurants in and around this area. It is pleasant to walk around in during the day but there are lots of shops selling the same things (flower cakes, silver, djembes, etc.). We loved the look and feel of some of the areas.

It is hard to avoid the crowds and congrstion after 6 pm and around 9 pm it gets pretty crazy in there with loud music, clubs and bars. If you're looking for a good time at night I'm sure you'd find it here.

It is a little bit like a maze and we found the signage was lacking because we got stuck a couple of times. Be careful with the shops as quite a few font have prices displayed and we felt we were overcharged a couple of times relative to what we are used to paying for some items.

The registration to get in for foreigners took us around 5 minutes and we had to show them several different health codes. They made sure we wore out masks at the one gate but let locals roam maskless. Once registered make sure you take a picture so you can show at any entrance to get in easily the next time you go through.

We love everything about this old town. It has been restored beautifully with many hotels, restaurants, shops, bars and etc. but still has its old-world charm. Sort of like the "Venice" of China. The weather was on the colder side in December, but it was not crowded and things are relatively inexpensive.

You can live with blue sky with white cloud weather at slow pace in the city. There are night lives with good Chinese bands too. Good mix of life can be found here. People here are friendly and honest, relatively helpful to tourists.

Lijiang Ancient City was my favourite among all the ancient towns and cities that I had visited in Yunnan. The narrow lanes and old architecture are reminders of how people lived in ancient times. The whole area was a maze. The view from Lion Hill showed that the area was not as big as I had thought. But walking through the lanes searching for particular shops or restaurants proved that it is justifiable being called a city. It felt much bigger than its actual area. Thank goodness for GPS. We needed to use our GPS to locate our friends who were waiting for us at our meeting point. This is definitely worth a visit.

We stayed a number of nights in Lijiang and loved it. There are many streets to wander around with plenty of restaurants and shops to browse. There are hundreds of places to stay and many are quaint with nice courtyards. It is a very relaxing place to enjoy a slow pace of life. It is also a great base for exploring the surrounding area and taking day trips to places like Yulong Snow mountain and LuGu Lake. Highly recommend a stop in Lijiang on your next trip to Yunnan.

Starting point of our Yunnan tour, we did book a B&B house with two other families. Walking down the alleys, enjoy local smile and food, looking at local architecture and of course visiting MUFU palace made our days. Longer I am afraid would be of not interest. So nice place to visit, and then visit neighbourhoods as many treasures to be found.

Take your time to explore all the alleys and streets of this gem. A UNESCO site, there's flower alleys, delicious food stalls and lots of colorful and ancient architecture to admire. We spent an entire afternoon there, had Chinese noodles and later dinner in a French bistro. Busy but not crowded and the weather was gorgeous as well. Definitely a highlight of our Yunnan trip!
