Tahir is very professional, pleasant and knowledgeable. He made our visit to Turpan memorable. The service he provides ensures that you can see all the must-see sights in the most efficient manner. Tahir can also tell you about these different places and about the Uyghur culture. Lunch at a nice local restaurant can also be arranged. Tahir also ensures that you can pass all the checkpoints without to much hassle. This makes the trip much more pleasant.

Very exciting weekend in Turpan with Omar as guide. 2 days was not enough to discover everything. The program of visit was customized as I wanted. The guide was passionate and had a great knowledge of the history and anecdotes on the area. I great memory. To be recommended.

On the 17th of May 2018 we would stay a day in Turpan. Because we liked to see the most interesting sites in and near Turpan, we had contacted Tahir on forehand by mail (tahirtour8@yahoo.com) to drive and guide us that day. Because his mail address is in the Lonely Planet, he was easily to contact. Now our holiday in Xinjiang is over, we can advise everybody who likes to see the most of Turpan, to use the services of Tahir in Turpan. Tahir knows a lot of his region, speaks English very well and above all is a very friendly and helpful guide. Starting from 9.30 until 19.30 (Beijing time), we have seen the most interesting things. To give an impression of our day: at 10.15 we arrived at the Bezeklik Thousand Buddha Caves, at 12.20 we visited Tuyoq Village and had lunch. In the afternoon we visited at 15.30 Kariz wells, we went to Jiaohe Ancient City (16.30) and finally had a visit at 18.50 to make photo’s in the ‘golden hours’-sun at the Emin Minaret. Finally, be sure you contact ‘the real Tahir’! See his pictures on Tripadvisor. We heard from him that someone in Turpan, especially in the station, pretends to be Tahir. For a lot of money you have an imposter who doesn’t speak English and is only interested in your money.

Our family of 5 spent 2 full days with Tahir and this trip will remain for sure in our memories. Tahir knows his city and guided us to the most interesting places and delicious restaurants. Tahir is very knowledgeable and gave us a wealth of information about the history and the current economy of Turpan. We would certainly recommend him to anyone visiting Turpan.

We found this travel company and Tahir on TripAdvisor, and the reviews are absolutely true! Tahir is a great driver and guide, and we also had a formal guide with us, Omar, who regaled us with tales of the Silk Road and all the details of the sights we were seeing. Lunch at a family home was a special treat, in a beautiful location, and we had a very fun-filled and enriching day. They accommodated all of our extra requests, like a stop at the market to buy some delicious dried fruit, and a visit to the Turpan museum to see the mummies and dinosaurs (totally worth an hour or hour and a half stop!). When we were too late to see the kezar site, Tahir and Omar improvised and we got to see a kezar site out in the local village instead. This is a great adventure not to be missed if you're in the neighborhood! Very reliable, knowledgeable, and entertaining folks and a special place to visit with so much rich history.
