We walked up and then down again, including breakfast and lunch time, photos etc it should take max 5 hours for fit people. We didn't need extra oxygen.

I can't believe this is China. Beautiful scenery and fresh air. The mountains have snow on the tops and green trees covering the areas further down. There are even birds and squirrels running around if you keep an eye out. The beautiful coloured waters and...More

We were there at the end of the dry season but it was still beautiful. There are pictures around that show you what a particular area is like with more water. As well as the pools, there is a large temple and caves. Our flight...More

I visited the valley in the middle of May, my fault for sure. Unfortunately it's still dried up, hardly any water in the rivers and lakes. It kind of makes you sadder because you get a glimpse of how it could look like in it's...More

We went to Huanglong in early May, and it was not so spectacular. It was the dry season, few ponds, no waterfalls, no reduced ticket price. But the taxi to Jiuzhaiguo made the experience for us, snow-capped mountains, yaks, gold plated temples, furry horses. We...More

I was in Huanglong with a group of seniors in their 60's to late 70's and am very proud of them for conquering Huanglong. I think staying a couple of nights in Jiuzaigou and a night in Huanglong before the climb was helpful for them...More

Nice Park, fresh air and well maintained. A lot of beautiful sites. You have to walk from point to point, no public transportation. Trails are on wooden platforms (easy). The drawback is, this place is not for everyone. The tour agency that I booked from...More

I think this park has lots of potential when there's water everywhere. But in April, there's only water at the top and the rest of the park on the way down is kind of uninteresting and depressing, probably not worth the steep entrance and transportation...More

You can rent private cars, which can give you more leisure with your times, because if you take the public buses, you are timebound, which means you will be rushed. If you are not a hiker like me, this is not the best... More

Unless you have known problem for altitude you should not worry. The cost of O2 can varies from RMB60 to 120. Also they have Oxigen bars at few places in Huanglong, cost of which is also not very high.
